HealthNet TPO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based public health interventions with a focus on: innovative development of health systems, mental health and  psychosocial care, long and short term training of health workers, control of communicable diseases (including malaria), and health financing schemes. HealthNet TPO offers ground-breaking and unconventional solutions that foster self-reliance and promote sustainable health care that is accessible to all.   HealthNet TPO in Afghanistan aims to improve the health status of the people in Afghanistan by supporting the local communities and the Government of Afghanistan in the development of a sustainable health care system.  HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. Health Net TPO is currently implementing projects in 22 provinces and the major program it implements are Malaria Control program, BPHS/EPHS, C-IMCI , CME, CHNE, public private partnership, nutrition and Mental Health and Psychosocial program through a community system strengthening approach. 

Job Description

  • To prepare and implement a good micro plan for outreach and mobile programs under the supervision of HF in-charge and related supervisor
  • To have an update list of the EPI and MCH dropouts to follow them in outreach sessions
  • To store, handle and maintain vaccines as per Afghan N-EPI/UNICEF/WHO protocols
  • To dispose of contaminated waste in a responsible manner to prevent exposure
  • To provide EPI activities in the HFs and out-reach.
  • To maintain a high level of cold chain management all the time
  • To respond immediately to any cold chain irregularity using local possibility including sending Vaccines to other closest health facility with cold chain system 
  • To report immediately any irregularity of cold chain to supervisor
  • To mobilize the community to immunize their children and women of reproductive age (social mobilization)
  • To provide appropriate counseling to prevent dropout and increase coverage
  • To provide health education for her/his client to SDO and outreach sessions
  • To identify and report problems that interfere in the delivery of services
  • To identify and prevent areas of missed opportunity within the HF target area.
  • To meet with project staff for program development and problem solving
  • To attend HealthNet TPO sponsored training programs
  • Provide complete accurate clear and on time monthly and other activity report
  • Documentation and provision of mean of verification for the activities
  • Work as back up vaccinator in those HFs where needed
  • Support health promoter during the health promotion sessions
  • Provision of materials and information for health promotion sessions
  • Tracking target achievement on monthly base
  • Other tasks which assign by line manager.
 

Job Requirements

  • To have at least baccalaureate degree, Medical field related degree is preferable
  • At least 1 years work experience in immunization.
  • Must successfully complete immunization initial training
  • Must be fluent in local languages
