YHDO is a non-governmental and non-for-profit organization established in 2009, registered with ministry of economy in Afghanistan. YHDO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based interventions.

YHDO is implementing a project in partnership with UNODC in Kandahar province, the main purpose of the project is to improve quality of life, health and livelihoods of more than 8,000 children, men, women, adolescents, girls, and families at risk or affected by drug use and other negative health and social consequences

Main task for this position 

YHDO is looking for medical doctor as Team Leader to manage the center activities, and coordinate the Drug Prevention and Psychosocial Center activities with PPHD, BPHS, EPHS and relevant stakeholders in Kandahar province.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Manage the Drug Prevention and Psychosocial Center activities.
2. Checking documentation in accordance with organization’s procedure manual.
3. Ensure that projects are resourced and implemented correctly, to the satisfaction of the client, within budget and on time.
4. Responsibility to assist developing reporting tools design and implementation.
5. Develop work plans and monitor progress and present monthly progress report
6. Conduct supervision visit to project implementation target sites  
7. Develop project progress reports (monthly, quarterly, and project’s final report). 
8. Ensure effective documentation of program and progress by capturing lessons learnt and good practices.
9. Ensure collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse range of stakeholders, including PPHD, BPHS and other relevant stakeholders.
10. Represent the organization in relevant meetings and national forums 
11. Adhere to the organization code of conduct in professional and personal life and report breaches of the code to the appropriate persons
12. Organize youth drug prevention initiative events
13. Developed IEC materials on drug use prevention, mental health and family support in communities, displacement and other challenging settings.
