Job Description

  1. Purpose of the Role

Surveyors distributors play a key role in the day-to-day implementation of project activities. She must be familiar in the areas of operation to ensure implementation in line with humanitarian principles. Surveyors distributors, under the supervision of the Team Leader will conduct rapid needs assessments and assessments to identify target households eligible under the selection criteria. Surveyors distributors will support the timely assessment and distribution of humanitarian assistance to beneficiaries in the target areas. In discussion with the Team Leader, Security and management, the Surveyors distributors may negotiate access into certain areas of operation in target provinces.

 

  1. Responsibilities

She/he will be closely supervised and report to the Programme Manager and the Team Leader. The core task will be to implement project activities at household level need assessments and beneficiary selection exercises, as well as assist in the distribution process of assistance and post distribution monitoring.

•  Work with communities and other local authorities to identify the most vulnerable people in their communities.

•   Travel to the project location in district of Herat province regularly

•   Conduct Rapid assessment, survey, community level and Household assessment etc by using the standard and agreed tools and methodology.

•   Under the guidance of project manager, develop the rapid assessment and distribution plan and make sure the plan has been executed with timely and coordinated manner.

•   Ensure that the field data has been entered to its database on time manner, shared with the management for decision making.

•   Ensure the genuine widows have been selected as beneficiaries of the project based on the agreed criteria.

•   Closely coordinate with programme department staff for producing the distribution list.

•   Ensure that the distribution of assistance has been conducted on agreed global timeframe of emergency response.

•   Planning for the distribution of recommended assistance with safe environment and do not harm approach. 

•   Produce distribution reports.

•   Participates in weekly meetings and daily planning meetings.

•   Assist community mobilizer in Conducting the Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) of each intervention.

•   Preparing weekly, and monthly plans and reports.

•   Holding detailed beneficiary lists, including secondary data and other documents about them.

•   Develop and maintain an organized filing system.

•   Any other duty assigned by the project manager

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS

Completed high school or equivalent education.

Minimum of two years of experience in community mobilization particularly for community participation conflict resolution and resource mobilization in Afghanistan, ideally Herat

Applied knowledge of the local community structure, dynamics and development.

Experience working closely with crisis affected communities– host and IDP

Demonstrated experience in administering assessments, distributions, and monitoring of activities

Sound training delivery skills, especially at communities level

Ability to travel to the program communities in the districts on daily basis.

Demonstrated patience, enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills

Attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work both independently and cooperatively with team members.

Proven knowledge and respect of key humanitarian principles

Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems 

Team player and willingness to learn

Fluency and professional proficiency in Pashto and Dari, English is an asset.
