About (WASSA):

The Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 as Afghanistan's first women’s independent organization. WASSA aims to promote the women’s equal participation in socio-economic sectors and support the current humanitarian crisis by providing emergency humanitarian and livelihood assistance to vulnerable households, especially women.

To support WASSA’s vision and mission, some potential candidates are needed to be recruited for a project funded by UN Women to strengthen women’s livelihoods through increased access to skills and resources. The project will be implemented in three districts of Herat Province for a period of 15 months.

Job Description

  1. Conduct regular meeting with communities and explain the purpose of the program and survey.
  2. Conduct data collection surveys through online and offline ways and ensuring that all data is collected accurately.
  3. Consider all the defined criteria to assess the vulnerable families and collect their information.
  4. Able to coordinate activities and ensure proper data collection in the process.
  5. Ensure on time data submission and data entry to the systems and data bases.
  6. Travel to the target districts, villages and conduct survey and consult with CDC and community elders and local government authorities for identification and selection of vulnerable and poor people.
  7. Conducting House to House survey and select the eligible project beneficiaries.
  8. Distribution of token (ID Cards) or vouchers to the selected beneficiaries.
  9. Maintain a data base for the registered beneficiaries and community.
  10. Ensure that the neediest beneficiaries were selected for the program.
  11. Make sure that the best place was selected for the distribution and all the beneficiaries have access there.
  12. Responsible that all beneficiaries are receiving food packages in a timely manner.
  13. Prepare the distribution list and make sure that all beneficiaries have signed/fingerprint after receiving the food/nonfood items.
  14. Taking photos/video clips of the beneficiaries during survey and distribution. Uploading the data into the database after the completion of the distribution.
 

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social science and economic.
  2. Experience: Incumbent should carry 2 years of experience in area of data collection, surveys, needs assessments, field implementation.
  3. Knowledge of reading and writing of Dari, Pashto and English.
  4. Good knowledge of communication and building relations.
  5. Understand community concepts and behavior.
  6. High flexibility and accept the position challenge.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and meet the deadlines.
