We are a non-profit, non-governmental organization and in General Consultative Status with the United Nations, Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC).

  1. Program Summary:

As an INGO, since 2002, Good Neighbors International-Afghanistan (GNI-A) has been actively working in Afghanistan as a humanitarian and development aid agency, mainly targeting women and children who are deprived of their basic rights, especially the poor (rights-holders), through programs in several sectors, in order to enhance their capacities and to achieve major improvements in their lives. GNI-A is registered with the Ministry of Economy (NGO Department) under registration number 38.

Job Description

Program Summary:

As an INGO, since 2002, Good Neighbors International (GNI)-Afghanistan (GNI-A) has been actively working in Afghanistan as a humanitarian and development aid agency, mainly responding to the needs of emergency relief, education, health, WASH and Livelihoods of communities, including children, women and men. Our main target groups are the poor (rights-holders), through programs in several sectors, in order to enhance their capacities and to achieve major improvements in their lives. GNI-A is registered with the Ministry of Economy (NGO Department) under registration number 38.

Job Requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 

The Social Mobilizer is responsible for successful and effective communication, Mobilization identifying the target groups, Surveys, reporting, and conducting awareness sessions to the target communities.

 

  • Conduct surveys and assessments in the communities and provide feedback and suggestions for the strengthening and development of the Health program.
  • Mobilize the community and beneficiaries and provide them with awareness regarding mental health and Mother and child health care.
  • Support the team in planning and organizing community awareness, campaigns, behavior change communication, and community mobilization sessions.
  • Engage and mobilize community health workers and health shura members in one-to-one and group sessions.
  • Work closely with the Health Shura, and CDCs in selecting the target communities.
  • Coordination with local authorities, community leaders, relevant pubic hospital (PHC) as well as faith leaders.
  • Ensure all IEC materials are properly distributed, easily accessible, and usable for both women and men).
  • Create positive relations with communities through regular meetings and discussions for identifying and addressing Mental Health and Mother and child health issues.
  • Lead community-based mobilization and sensitization meetings, and introduce the project activities to community members and project beneficiaries.

  • Facilitate project activities information at all events such as training, workshops, and awareness sessions.
  • Engage and mobilize community health workers and health shura members in one-to-one and group sessions.
  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and reports for all activities.
  • Any other related task as assigned by Project Officer and/or Country Management Team.
  • The Social Mobilizer reports to the Project Officer and works under the supervision of her/him

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, or a related field to Health
