Job Description

The Safeguarding Focal Point will have the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Promote awareness and understanding of the organization's safeguarding policies among staff, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Support the integration of safeguarding measures into organizational activities and programs.
    • Deliver safeguarding training for staff.
    • Provide ongoing support to build capacity on safeguarding issues.
    • Act as the first point of contact for reporting safeguarding concerns or incidents to Main Office Safeguarding Officer.
  • Support the investigation of safeguarding cases, ensuring confidentiality and fairness.
  • Document and report incidents following organizational procedures.
  • Monitor safeguarding risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports on safeguarding activities, challenges, and progress.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and partners to ensure best practices in safeguarding.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human rights, or related field
  • Minimum [3] years of experience in safeguarding, child protection, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in safeguarding.
  •  Experience in developing and delivering training programs
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Pashto, Dari is in preferred.

Note:- There is a three months of probationary period for all staff, In case the employee fails to fulfill the requirements or completion of given tasks during this period OCCD can end his/her contract immediately
