About Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK)

Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK) is an independent, Non-Governmental, Non-Profit, Non-Political and Non-Sectarian Organization working in Afghanistan in the areas of Capacity Building Education and Health with an aim at improving livelihoods and alleviating poverty. The organization is re-registered under the Ministry of Economy with registration number, 316 of January 18, 2006. The organization works in Collaboration with other line Ministries, NGOs, INGOs, and donor community. Our donors are USAID, UN, OCHA and Ministries.

Job Description

To integrate national reproductive strategy and policy at provincial and district level
To assist JACK management team in reproductive health related issues at provincial level
To make sure all the RH staff are aware of national RH guidelines and treatment protocols
To update RH staff with the new national documents
To ensure all RH related equipment’s and tools are available and soundly utilized in the health
To ensure that the Emergency obstetric care centers are running according to the national standards
To facilitate recruitment of the reproductive health staff in collaboration with other officers
To identify, solve or refer the problems of RH staff with related departments as required
To improve the links of referral system in the different level of the health facilities (HP, SC, BHC, CHC and Hospital)
To train and support JACK health facilities staff in accordance to national guidelines
To participate actively in RH related workshops and meetings at provincial or national level
To evaluate the RH staff training needs and look for the opportunities for building their capacity at facility or provincial level

To conduct midwifes monthly meetings for sharing the information’s, problems and needs and finding possible solutions
To supervise the reproductive health services in the health facilities based on the BPHS standards as a member of JACK supervision team To analyze RH data and provide monthly report of RH activities
To carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned
To ensure inventory of all asset and maintain of health facilities.
Perform any other required project-related tasks.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

At least 3 years of proven experience at field.
Female MD or Midwife degree;
Strong communications skills;
Fluent English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills
Proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design and presentations

Other skills required:

Efficiency, result-oriented and excellent management capabilities;
Ability of problem solving and conflict resolution;
Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and harsh conditions; ability to handle
confidential and politically sensitive issues in a responsible and mature manner;
Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity;
Ability to travel throughout country;
Respect confidentiality of organization
