Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The incumbent in this position is responsible for IT asset management, hardware repair/maintenance, acting as helpdesk support, and assisting the regional IT coordinator in day-to-day activities.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Asset Management:

  • Receiving and checking of newly purchased IT-related assets and ensuring their quality and quantity as per requested specifications.
  • Proper and on-time recording and tracking of IT-related assets in the IT database and asset annex forms.
  • Deliver IT equipment for users and update the IT inventory database on time.
  • Physical verification of the asset at least twice a year and labeling with AKF, A standard tags.
  • Overall management and maintenance of IT assets for the Takhar region.
  • Providing asset reports in case of need.

Helpdesk Tasks:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Response to queries either in person or over the phone.
  • Provide frontline helpdesk support for all staff within the region.
  • Assigning received IT helpdesk tasks through email and mobile for relevant IT staff.
  • Ask questions to determine the nature of the problem and walk the user the problem-solving process.
  • Follow up with users to ensure the issue has been solved.
  • Ensuring to record all daily helpdesk queries.
  • Ensure helpdesk communication is functional and done according to the request.
  • Provide technical support to another team member, and district office in remote.

Hardware Tasks:

  • Support the Regional IT Coordinator in the arrangement and procurement of required IT equipment and spare parts.
  • Ensure computer and printer maintenance is scheduled and performed on regular bases.
  • Perform periodic computer maintenance and network devices (printers, scanners) maintenance.
  • Ensuring the completeness of hardware systems and their elements by scheduling maintenance.
  • Reviewing the quality of running hardware printers, components, and elements to detect issues and repair them in case of need.
  • Examining, checking, and mending equipment failure of hardware systems.
  • Perform hardware repair, maintenance, and installation of new devices.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.

Inventory and Asset Management Tasks:

  • Maintain inventory and asset documentation.
  • Receive all IT equipment from NPO and Takhar procurement team and record it properly.
  • Deliver IT equipment for users and update the IT inventory database on time.
  • Inventory and tagging all IT equipment.
  • Perform annual physical verification of IT equipment in the entire region.
  • Providing asset reports in case of need.

Client Support Tasks:

  • Installation and configuration of all types of operating systems.
  • Taking images of computers, restoring images on new computers, and creating the image for new computers and new operating systems.
  • Sharing and installing printers on client computers.
  • Configuring users’ outlook email accounts and updating the signature.
  • Antivirus installation, update, and upgrade for client computers.
  • Configuring/mapping shared drives/folders for all clients.
  • Creating users, configuring users, and managing their quota in the Kerio Control server.
  • Cabling and trucking of all AKF guesthouses, staff houses, regional offices, and district offices in case of need.
  • Regularly travel to Takhar region district offices for solving IT problems, and IT equipment maintenance, and report to the regional IT coordinator.
  • Assist the regional IT team in troubleshooting and IT helpdesk activities in the regional and district offices.

Reporting:

  • Provide an annual hardware maintenance plan to the regional IT coordinator.
  • Provide monthly reports of his/her tasks done during the month to the regional IT coordinator. Report progress and results of various tasks to the regional IT coordinator.
  • Prioritize, manage and be able to work under pressure and handle multiple problems simultaneously. Perform any other IT-related task assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensure to follow-up IT policy and AKF (Afg) standard process.
  • Simulating security breaches, protecting the system by defining access privileges, and maintaining data security and confidentiality.
  • Adhere to agency policy, procedures, and the professional code of conduct and ethics.
  • To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way that reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the Child safeguarding policy.

 

OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide after-hours support for infrastructure and related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance.

DECISION-MAKING & AUTHORITY

  • Solving technical problems.
  • Provide troubleshooting consulting to the IT coordinator.
 

Job Requirements

JOB SPECIFICATION

  • At least Bachelor of Computers Science.
  • MCSE and CCNA are preferable.
  • Good Oral and Written English communication skills.
  • Good behavior toward others, Problem Solving, Teamwork, and Interpersonal Skills.
  • At least 1-3 years’ work experience of working in the same field.
  • Good customer handling skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.
