About (WASSA):

The Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 as Afghanistan's first women’s independent organization. WASSA aims to promote the women’s equal participation in socio-economic sectors and support the current humanitarian crisis by providing emergency humanitarian and livelihood assistance to vulnerable households, especially women.

To support WASSA’s vision and mission, some potential candidates are needed to be recruited for a project funded by UN Women to strengthen women’s livelihoods through increased access to skills and resources. The project will be implemented in three districts of Herat Province for a period of 15 months.

Job Description

Monitoring

  • Collaborate with M&E Officers to conduct rapid assessments, market assessments or any special assessments targeting female participants/ beneficiaries or respondents.
  • Support M&E Officers to conduct post distribution monitoring, or any other monitoring activities assigned targeting female participants. 
  • Support roll-out of monitoring tools and processes designed to increase participation of female participants in MEAL processes

Accountability

  • Establish quality and context-adapted Complaints and Feedback Mechanism, adapted to the projects implemented by WASSA: Mechanisms that beneficiaries will trust, that they will be able to easily access to share feedback or make confidential complaints and that will allow them to get feedback.
  • Monitor complaints and feedback received and response (follow-up) process, through developing and maintaining a dedicated monitoring system (tool and process).
  • Ensure that feedbacks are routinely recorded, reviewed and responded timely, in line with WASSA’s Complaint and Feedback Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Be the first point of contact for beneficiaries, community members and other stakeholder’s complaint.
  • Maintain and update the Complaint and Feedback Database and provide timely update to the MEAL Manager/Programs based on the nature of the feedback.
  • Analyze patterns and trends in feedback and complaints to help WASSA improve programming. Assist partner organizations on annual review of accountability framework CRM information sharing etc. to ensure the functionality of the systems and analyze the opportunities for further improvement.
  • Generate periodic reports and share them with MEAL Manager and Programs.
  • Follow-up close-out of feedback provided by female participants
  • Support training female participants on MPWC accountability mechanisms

Reception:

  • Greet and welcome guests and beneficiary as soon as they arrive at the office
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
  • Update calendars and schedule meetings

Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing

 

Job Requirements

Required Professional Experience:

At least two years monitoring and evaluation experience in a similar job and having experience and knowledge of MEAL is preferred.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:

University degree in relevant fields such as:  Economy, Statistics, Social Science, and Management or Computer science.
