Great Organization for Learning and Development (GOLD) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-partisan organization that works to improve health, nutrition, education and reduce illiteracy, unemployment, and poverty in Afghanistan. Job Description

Purpose of the position:

This is a full-time position in the organization. Adding this position to the staffing structure, GOLD intends to strengthen and mainstream GBV and Protection concepts and activities into all the project implemented by the Organization. The GBV/Protection Focal Point will be assigned to perform the following activities:

Specific activities include:

  • The focal point will ensure that all GOLD staff receive capacity development training and their awareness is improved in Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and GBV- related matters.
  • Represent GOLD in all platform required, and establish close coordination with concerned working groups (GBV, Protection, Disability, PSEA etc).
  • The Focal Point will establish referral mechanism where passible - at various levels,
  • The Focal Point Will Identify and report GBV and Protection related cases and keep constant touch with all female employees and direct/indirect beneficiaries of GOLD-implemented projects/programs.
  • The focal point will be reporting identified cases to the GOLD’s Executive Board, technical working groups and other organizations engaged in similar activities’.
  • The focal point will be actively engaged to enhance organizational capacity regarding GBV/Protection Principles.
  • Promoting GBV concept in M&E: The focal point will ensure that the GBV/Protection Concept is integrated in the M&E framework and reporting.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in law, Human rights or social science.
  • At least 1 year of proven experience in a similar role, particularly in GBV/Protection management within humanitarian or development organizations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
