Job Description

The Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Focal Point is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures aimed at preventing and responding to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) within the organization. The PSEA Focal Point will work closely with management, staff, and partners to promote a safe and respectful working environment.

Objectives

  • Strengthen the organization's PSEA framework and policies.
  • Raise awareness and build capacity on PSEA among staff and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and oversee the implementation of reporting and response mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international PSEA standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation and enforcement of PSEA policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and assess PSEA compliance within the organization and its programs.
  • Support the development and revision of internal policies related to SEA prevention and response.
  • Ensure that all staff, partners, and beneficiaries understand their rights and responsibilities under the PSEA framework.
  • Organize and conduct PSEA training sessions for staff, volunteers, and partners.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on PSEA-related matters.
  • Develop and disseminate PSEA awareness materials and communication tools.
  • Ensure that all staff and stakeholders are aware of the reporting mechanisms available for SEA cases.
  • Receive and handle SEA allegations in a confidential and sensitive manner.
  • Support investigations in coordination with relevant internal and external entities.
  • Ensure that survivors receive appropriate support and referrals to necessary services.
  • Act as the organization's representative in PSEA-related coordination groups and inter-agency networks.
  • Collaborate with other organizations and agencies to strengthen PSEA initiatives and best practices.
  • Liaise with donors, government agencies, and partners to enhance PSEA compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in humanitarian work, protection, safeguarding, or related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of PSEA principles, policies, and international guidelines.
  • Experience in training, capacity building, and advocacy on protection and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive cases with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Fluency in English and local languages Pashto and Dari.

Working Conditions

  • The position requires travel to field locations as necessary.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments and respond to urgent situations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
