About (WASSA):

The Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 as Afghanistan's first women’s independent organization. WASSA aims to promote the women’s equal participation in socio-economic sectors and support the current humanitarian crisis by providing emergency humanitarian and livelihood assistance to vulnerable households, especially women.

To support WASSA’s vision and mission, some potential candidates are needed to be recruited for a project funded by UN Women to strengthen women’s livelihoods through increased access to skills and resources. The project will be implemented in three districts of Herat Province for a period of 15 months.

Job Description

  • The purpose of the Provincial Project Supervisor Position is to effectively and efficiently supervise and implement the project at the field level, and to be responsible as per the below details:
  • Maintain close cooperation with project staff, community leaders and with the assisted population, as well as with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Close coordination of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure beneficiary outreach and selection for the program activities base on the criteria.
  • Overall leading and managing provincial office activities.
  • Oversee, control, monitor and implement overall operational activities of budgeting, financial management, logistics, and staffing at the provincial office.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all participants in the project have achieved the targets of the program.
  • Follow up on the project activities implemented in the field and make sure of smooth implementation of the prepared plan.
  • Implement project activities in accordance with the project guidelines and targets.
  • Support the quality control provided by the Project Manager and ensure the reporting about capacity gaps.
  • Coordination and communication with the relevant stakeholders and government authorities at the provincial level
  • Ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics (solve potential conflicts)
  • Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly result-based progressive reports on the relevant activities.
  • Design training for the beneficiaries accordingly to the approved proposal of the projects.
  • Inspire staff to excel in their jobs, while also achieving goals and meeting deadlines.
  • Preparing and coordinating daily plans and activities of the team to contribute to the objective of the project.
  • Monitor the project activities and report accordingly.
  • Coordinate with the MEAL team for quality assurance when is required
  • Record the minutes of the meetings with stakeholders and sharing with the Project Manager
  • Regular field visit from the project sites and monitor the activities and ensure the quality of work
  • On-time reporting of the overall activities being undertaken at the field level to the Project Manager.
  • Monitoring and supervision of the activities at the field level and sharing the findings with the Regional Project Manager and relevant staff for improvement.
  • Keep the perfect record, and filing system of the project activities, and do the proper data collection.
  • Make sure of the project visibility (banner, newsletter, leaflet)
  • Develop case studies and success stories and sharing with the Project Manager
  • Data collection, survey and small research from the project in the initial implementation step of the projects.
  • Participating in emergency response incidents on a need basis in the field.
  • Participate in the clusters in meeting the provincial level and reporting the line manager.
  • Provide help in the implementation of the seasonal project at the field level.
  • Perform any other task assigned by Project Manager.

Job Requirements

Language Skills: Fluent in English, Dari and Pashtu

Computer Skills: Proven working knowledge of ICDL package, outlook and other e-mail communication.

Teamwork: Ability to work in a team, often under stressful conditions with line manager and other team members.

Communication: Excellent communication skills in English and Dari, Having excellent verbal translation skills, Strong negotiation skills.

Additional Attributes: Keep under all circumstances a professional working attitude Carry out the principles of WASSA.

Cultural Skills: Ability to work with persons from different ethnics, language and cultural backgrounds.

Personal Attributes: Politeness, Pleasant and Friendly disposition, Attention to detail, Initiative, Punctuality, Honesty, Diligence.

Experience: Having experience for about 3 years with national and or international organizational in management and technical level

Education : University Bachelor’s degree (Economics, Management, and Social Sciences).
