Job Description

Job Purpose:

IMC seeks project technical provincial officer with a previous background of working for health-related projects as technical & supervisory roles. The health project provincial officer will be working under supervision of the project Manager and will be presenting IMC in the project located provinces. The project provincial Officer will be responsible for technical support and managing the smooth implementation of the project in related provinces.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide regular technical supervision/monitoring and support to PSCC and MCHC project team at the province level.

  1. Supervise and monitor the performance of PSCC and MCHC centers in the province.
  2. The provincial officer will track the targets achievement for static PSS and Mental Health services provision centers and, address all the gaps and preparation of action plans for project activities considering MoPH and project donor’s standard guidelines.
  3. The provincial officer will collect, verify, and compile health facility technical reports and will be responsible for timely submission of the report to related person.
  4. Identify needs and problems of the project and share it with Project manager for advice.
  5. Establish and ensure technical supportive systems regarding moral and motivation of the team at the province level.
  6. Assist in internal and external coordination of project activities with relevant stakeholders at the province level.
  7. The provincial officer will present IMC in all technical meetings on provincial level. Any other assignment by Project Manager
  8. To be fully updated about his/her tasks and technical team achievements, reporting and follow-up.
  9. The provincial officer must show initiative and complete all tasks given by her supervisor promptly and to the standard expected.
  10. Take active part in quality assurance and ensure recording of lessons learned to adjust the future planning of counseling project.
  11. The provincial officer must be able to work independently when asked and take the initiative to solve problems without being asked.
  12. Coordination with PHD and other NGOs if necessary
  13. Participate in monthly meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions
  14. Facilitate the Logistical and Admin/Finance activities as per needs of the project in the province.

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles and respect international humanitarian law.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:

  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

MD degree, preferably with postgraduate/master qualification in the field of public health

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience with NGO/INGO or related organization as provincial or project officer

Competency:

  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with MS- Office Package.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with women and girls and protection services in the field.
  • Fluent in Dari/ Pashto. Having a good command of the English language, both written and spoken will be an added advantage.
