Job Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for handling ongoing projects and working closely with team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.

Openness to constructive criticism. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds. determination, commitment, and adaptability in the workplace are required.

 

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  1. The PC will represent the interests of the program in his/her area of responsibility. In doing so, the PC will work in an integrated manner with the Government at the province and district levels with a particular focus on, outreach to, and coordination with, local communities.
  2. The PC will be the eyes and ears of the project program at the designated governorate and district levels and will be the main interlocutor between government and community interests in the designated area of responsibility. S/he will be expected to play an active and constructive role in providing consistent information, analysis, and strategic recommendations to the project management, including best practices and program and political challenges. The PC will convey to program counterparts in Government and at the Community level the key methodologies and objectives of the project.
  3. The PC will forge good relationships across government and community interlocutors, and across a broad range of local, regional and national interests toward joint implementation of grant initiatives. The PC will be responsive to and interpret, current events in the designated area of responsibility

Responsibilities of the Job:

  1. Advise the program management on programmatic strategy including where to focus program resources, and how to develop operational relationships with government entities KRO main office Kandahar.
  2. Develop, coordinate and implement methodologies for engaging government entities and local communities in consultative processes for project identification and implementation.
  3. In conjunction with the Assistant Provincial Coordinator (APC) in all areas of responsibility, identify potential grantees for the design and development of grants.
  4. Responsible for the identification and implementation of grants that appropriately correspond to the overall strategic goals of the program.
  5. Ensure that relevant local government authorities or authorities and communities are brought together for transparent consultative processes throughout the grant cycle.
  6. Report as necessary to the program management in Kandahar on all aspects of program implementation.
  7. Undertake regular travel to the districts in order to identify, develop and/or support programming opportunities.
  8. Develop, implement and share with other program staff monitoring and evaluation processes
  9. Hiring the staff for project implementation with close coordination of Main Office HR Dep.
  10. Projects Related Teams management (Assessment, SCOPE, and Distribution) with coordination of program
  11. Preparing necessarily related reports (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, yearly, and project-wise)
  12. Coordination with ZabulWFP Sub-office
  13. Developing warehouses management, security, and monitoring plan
  14. Providing facilities for project implementation (Vehicles, warehouses, and Staff)
  15. Processing the project's initial documents
  16. Controlling the financial activities and reporting to the main office
  17. Clearing all the financial documents on weekly basis with the main office
  18. Projects Documentation
  19. Participating in meetings, workshops, and training
  20. Any other duties that may be assigned by the Regional Director/SOs Manager.

 

Technical:

  1. Proven knowledge of local and international NGOs and community-based organizations in Afghanistan;
  2. Demonstrated analytical ability and understanding of local and regional context, with the ability to think creatively to develop appropriate activities;
  3. Personal commitment, drive for results, efficiency, flexibility, respect for diversity;
  4. Good level of computer literacy;
  5. Good report writing skills;
  6. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and in a team;
  7. Must be able to travel extensively in the field.

Job Requirements

  1. University degree in Social Sciences; Business Administration, Community Development; Law; International Relations; Public Administration; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  2. Minimum three (3) years of specific experience in the field of development with project design, implementation, and management.
  3. Fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English is required.
  4. Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  5. Good knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word, and outlook email system.
  6. Excellent leadership skills.
  7. Excellent time management skills.
  8. Experience in community participation and consensus-building projects.
