Afghanistan Legal and Social Development Organization (ALSDO) is a non-profit, non–governmental, and non–political and development oriented humanitarian aid organization, founded and registered with the ministry of economy of Afghanistan in 2006 by a group of Afghan professionals. ALSDO was created and established to address the real needs and make all afghan to speak for their rights and be privileged from legal, social and human rights in peaceful and developed environment. ALSDO vision is to be the leading, educational, legal and social capacity building for youth and women agency progressing equal human rights to youth and women and peace in Afghanistan and it mission is to increase legal and social, equal human rights opportunities and peace building  for vulnerable Afghans through providing access to justice, equal rights, capacity building, health facilities, agriculture advanced system, basic needs,  peace, empowerment of women and youth access to equal gender mainstreaming and general humanitarian and development approaches.

Job Description

Proposal Writer will be a focal point person and serve as the lead writer overseeing the preparation of the proposal’s technical approach, and writing or incorporating written sections including institutional capabilities. Proposal Writer Prepares proposals by determining concept; gathering and formatting information writing drafts obtaining approvals. The proposal writer works in many different industries to create clear, succinct documents that suggest a course of action or idea. The proposal writer is expected to write well-- grammar, spelling and context all count. His/ her key asset would be the ability to write under tight deadlines, be organized and prepared, and have the ability to say much with a few words.

Job Requirements

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare professional proposals in response to Request for Proposals(RFPs), consult with senior management, get an approval and submit the final package to the Donor
  • Develop Concept notes based on ALSDO priority interventions and share it with relevant Donors for Funding
  • Prepare EoIs on behalf of ALSDO
  • Develop Quotations in response to RFQs that where ALSDO meets the eligibility criteria
  • Find out various funding opportunities and raise fund for the organizational sustainability
  • Prepare regular reports to Donors and represent ALSDO in all Donors Meetings
  • Conduct Capacity Building Programs for ALSDO staff to build their knowledge, skills and attitude
  • Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Board Director against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required.
  • Collect new ideas for proposals for new intervention
  • Review, revise, and copy-edit technical proposal sections provided by partners to ensure the proposal speaks as one voice
  • Obtains approvals by reviewing proposals with key providers and project managers.
  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant.
  • Participate in technical reviews to incorporate feedback in a timely manner
  • Present and tag all new proposal content to the knowledgebase manager for potential re-use.
  • Knowledge of proposal automation software.
  • Communicate and influence at a senior level.
  • Excellent time management / prioritization skills.
  • Any other duty assigned by Country Director of ALSDO
