Job Description

Women’s Voice Organization (WVO) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-political, non-profit, impartial, Humanitarian organization operating in Afghanistan and its environs. The Women’s Voice Organization (WVO) was established in June 2019 and is registered as a Non- non-governmental organization whose aims are to Alleviate Poverty, Promote Good Governance, peaceful and secure societies, and Access to Public Education. The organization is registered with the Ministry of Economy (MoEC) under license #: 4881.

The formation of WVO was informed by the need to improve risk awareness, peacebuilding conflict resolution, and prevention of violent extremist and other challenges of socio-economic conditions of the disadvantaged communities members with particular emphasis on youth and village residents to alleviate the suffering which was on its peak at that time as a result of frequent insecurity shocks and natural disasters and lack of awareness. The NGO also sought to accelerate the development of the rural-urban poor areas and reduce poverty, morbidity, and mortality rates of women and children.

 

Job Description:

We are looking for an eloquent, persuasive proposal writer to join our team of writers in creating proposals. The proposal writer's responsibilities include gathering information, formatting the information according to the organizational policies, obtaining management approval, and sending the proposal to the appropriate source.     

The proposal writer Prepares proposals by determining concepts; gathering and formatting information; writing drafts; and obtaining approvals.

The proposal writer is expected to write well-- grammar, spelling, and context all count. His/ her key asset would be the ability to write under tight deadlines, be organized and prepared, and have the ability to say much with a few words.

Job responsibilities:

  • Best relations with donors and seek new donors.
  • Excellent communication skills with donors to get proposal approval with donor satisfaction.
  • Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs); and attending strategy meetings.
  • Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; and transmitting proposals.
  • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Convey this strategy in concise and compelling narrative text
  • Write quality proposals outlining a well-written and clear strategy
  • Be a part of a supportive team of writers who share knowledge and expertise to ensure quality, consistency, and professional growth

The proposal writer should be articulate, have excellent written communication skills, and be able to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines.

 

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English literature, social science or related field.
  • 6 years of proposal writing work experience within an international or local NGO
  • Previous experience in proposal writing may be advantageous.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Establish working relationships with the government and non-government organizations
  • Good strategic planning abilities
  • Build strong lines of communication with the stakeholders and within the team.
