About Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK)

Just  for  Afghan  Capacity  and  Knowledge  (JACK)  is  an  independent,  Non-Governmental,  Non-Profit,  Non-Political  and  Non-Sectarian  Organization working  in  Afghanistan  in  the  areas  of  Capacity  Building  Education  and  Health  with  an  aim  at  improving  livelihoods  and  alleviating  poverty.  The organization  is  re-registered  under  the  Ministry  of  Economy  with  registration  number,  316  of  January  18,  2006.    The organization works in Collaboration with other line Ministries, NGOs, INGOs, and donor community. Our donors are USAID, UN, OCHA and Ministries.

Job Description

• Responsible for regular supervision of FHH midwives’ activities, and providing technical support as required
• Follow- up of specifics issues related to family planning and safe motherhood, etc.
• Ensuring that communities are well aware of the project and are encouraging them to participate in the project activities
• Prepare accurate report according to project objectives and submit to line manager timely
• Identify and report immediately any medical or administrative problems that may interfere in achieving program objectives
• Evaluate and appraise the performance FHH midwives
• Meet regularly with male and female health shuras, community leaders and other stakeholders, to ensure project effectiveness and community involvement in decisions making regarding the FHH service.
• Identification of FHH staff’s knowledge and skills gaps and develop training plan;
• Supervise the whole activities carryout in the FHH (relevant cluster).
• Ensure the diagnosis treatment of the patient done according to the national treatment guidelines.
• Ensure that all registration & medical records system follows according to the guidelines.
• In cooperation with the project coordinator oversee the planning & implementation of FHH activities in the relevant area.
• Provide on-the-job training to FHH midwives in defined clusters.
• Ensure implementation of quality standards in project activities & programs through a feedback mechanism.
• Ensure close coordination with related district governors and community elders.
• Provide job awareness and on-the-job training for new FHH midwives.
• Supervise the sanitation and hygiene in the FHH, particularly the waste disposal systems.
• The post holder may be required to carry out additional duties from time to time which are reasonable in relation to her level of skills and experience
