About (WASSA):

The Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 as Afghanistan's first women’s independent organization. WASSA aims to promote the women’s equal participation in socio-economic sectors and support the current humanitarian crisis by providing emergency humanitarian and livelihood assistance to vulnerable households, especially women.

To support WASSA’s vision and mission, some potential candidates are needed to be recruited for a project funded by UN Women to strengthen women’s livelihoods through increased access to skills and resources. The project will be implemented in three districts of Herat Province for a period of 15 months.

Job Description

The purpose of the Project Supervisor Position is to effectively and efficiently supervise and implement the project at the field level, and to be responsible as per the below details:

  1. Maintain close cooperation with project staff, community leaders and with the assisted population, as well as with all relevant stakeholders.
  2. Devising proper planning for implementation of Psychosocial portion of the projects and follow up of day-to-day activities with close coordination of Project Manager.
  3. Responsible for ensuring that all participants in the project have achieved targets of the program.
  4. Follow up of the project activities implementation in the field.
  5. Smooth Implementation of the prepared plan.
  6. Implement project activities in accordance with the project guidelines and targets.
  7. Support the quality control it means provided by the line manager, and ensure the reporting about capacity gaps.
  8. Ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics (solve out potential conflicts)
  9. Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly result based progressive report the relevant activities.
  10. Designing of trainings to the beneficiaries accordingly to the approved proposal of the projects.
  11. Inspire staff to excel in their jobs, while also achieving goals and meeting deadlines.
  12. Preparing and coordinating daily plan and activities that contributes to the objective of the project.
  13. Regular field visit from the project site.
  14. On time reporting of the overall activities being undertaken at the field level to Project Manager.
  15. Monitoring and supervision of the activities at the field level and sharing the findings with the Project Manager and relevant staff for improvement.
  16. Keep the perfect record, and filing system of the project activities, and do the proper data collection.
  17. Develop success stories for the monthly report and newsletter.
  18. Data collection, survey and small research from the project in the initial implementation step of the projects.
  19. Participating in the emergency responses incidences on need basis in the field.
  20. Providing help in implementation of the seasonal project at the field level.
  21. Perform any other task assigned by Project Manager.
 

Job Requirements

Language Skills: Fluent in English, Dari and Pashtu

Computer Skills: Proven working knowledge of ICDL package, outlook and other e-mail communication.

Teamwork: Ability to work in a team, often under stressful conditions with line manager and other team members.

Communication: Excellent communication skills in English and Dari, Having excellent verbal translation skills, Strong negotiation skills.

Additional Attributes:Keep under all circumstances a professional working attitude Carry out the principles of WASSA.

Cultural Skills: Ability to work with persons from different ethnics, language and cultural backgrounds.

Personal Attributes: Politeness, Pleasant and Friendly disposition, Attention to detail, Initiative, Punctuality, Honesty, Diligence.

Experience: Having experience for about 3 years with national and or international organizational.

Education : University Bachelor’s degree (Economics, Management, and Social Sciences).
