About Organization for Research & Community Development (ORCD )

Organization for Research & Community Development (ORCD) is a Non-governmental, Non-political, Non-profitable and independent organization founded in 2010 by a group of community development and research specialist. The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based on best practices and implementing development projects aimed at community development at the grass root level. ORCD is a multi-donor funded NGO, implementing health, agriculture and community development projects in several provinces of the country.
ORCD would like to implement Mobile Health and Nutrition Services (MHNT) Logar province funded by (UNICEF) for which it would like to seek qualified people.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Project Officer is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Officer will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Responsibilities:

    1. Assist provincial manager in coordinating HBC activities with sectors at provincial level.
    2. Prepare reports (weekly, monthly and quarterly) at provincial level and send them to head quarter.
    3. Monitor the HBC activities (run by UN Women) at provincial level
      Provide support to HBC staff.
    4. Conduct any other tasks assigned to him by his supervisor.
    5. Assist in the development of project plans and schedules.
    6. Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, and information.
    7. Monitor and track project progress and handle any issues that arise.
    8. Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.
    9. Communicate with stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure all are informed.
    10. Prepare project reports for management and stakeholders.
    11. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
    12. Manage and lead project team members, ensuring their tasks are completed.
    13. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
    14. Implement risk management processes to minimize project risks.
    15. Ensure that all project activities are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  1. Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management or a related role.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto are necessary.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
