Afghanistan has made significant progress in Education sector, as per officially confirmed statistics from the Ministry of Education, today there are over 9 million students of whom %39 are girls participating in formal education – including Public and private schools, Community Based Education (CBE) in Afghanistan.

However, there are still millions out of school children face many challenges in having access to quality education and learning opportunities. Girls in particular are more on the receiving end of these challenges with limited or no  access  to  education  in  parts  of  the  country.

HHOA works at gross root level  and has expertise in delivering programs such as education, vocational skills training, child protection, gender based violence, WASH in schools and communities, healthy communities, greening Afghanistan and alternative livelihoods over the years.

Job Description:

 

  1. Lead and oversee the overall activities of provision of Basic General Literacy (BGL) courses in Logar province, capacitate staff, delegate tasks to them and supervise their tasks on regular basis, provide guidance and leadership as necessary.
  2. Make sure that the projects’ activities are pursued based on policies, guidelines, by laws, working instructions, and other CBE projects documentations that are necessary for the education projects. 
  3. Coordinate with Field Coordination officer, operation, Councilor and mobilisers to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
  4. Establish a professional and working reporting channel and system among projects’ staff at central and Provincial Level to make sure the communication among staff is smooth, professional and world class.
  5. Receive provincial reports, analysis and findings and prepare his/her own evolution and analysis for HHOA, MoE & UNESCO with solid findings, recommendations and conclusions.
  6. Plan and design capacity building and development plans for projects staff and follow up on them to make sure they are implemented and the staff gain the necessary skills to perform their jobs well.
  7. Conduct a quarterly evaluation of the projects staff and share the feedback and report with HHOA management.
  8. Assure that Literacy Program is implemented as per the agreement and MoU with the Donor, PEDs and DEDs.
  9. Develop tools (forms, formats) and their implementation mechanisms for mapping, training, monitoring and evaluation of the projects successful implementation.
  10. Develop methodologies for using data analytic tools; develop and present reports, visualizations, and statistical graphs to illustrate findings and draw recommendations.
  11. Perform any other assignment given by the board.
 

Job Requirements

 
  • University Degree in Education, Education Management, Law, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven work experience as a project manager for projects of similar intervention/scopes in education in Afghanistan;
  • Demonstrated experience in working with government at national and sub-national levels, UN organizations, or any international development or aid agencies.
  • Proficiency in English and Dari and/or Pashtu (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of up-to-date trends and best practices in emergency support services;
