Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The Project officer will assist in coordination to lin the team member for implementing Emergency Cash for winterization Assistance to affected populations of Panjshir Province. The project officer will be the responsible lead person and will implement the project in close coordination with the project coordinator at the provincial level as well as the country office technical team.

Reporting directly to the project coordinator and he/she will lead the overall planning, supervision, and implementation of the project.

 

Specifically, the food security officer will have the following responsibilities:

 

Direct program implementation:

  • Oversee the implementation of life-saving assistance project activities at the districts level.
  • Take part in the selection of project implementation sites.
  • Contribute and support community mobilizers for selecting project beneficiaries.
  • Work with the Project Coordinator and other project staff for preparing the necessary documentation for distributing cash to project beneficiaries.
  • Coordination and provide full support to distribution committees in distributing cash to selected project beneficiaries.
  • Provide support to the provincial M&E focal point for proper documentation of distributions and others activities.
  • Support the data collectors for conducting post distribution monitoring visits to project implementation sites.
  • Whenever required, give company to representatives of project stakeholders during joint-monitoring visits.
  • Conducting project intended awareness raising sessions for community-based staff and community participants.

 

Supervision:

  • Prepare and implement an action plan for quality monitoring.
  • Mobilizing and Making communities aware of project objectives, outputs, and activities, and M&E systems.
  • Facilitate project and activities information at all events such as training and workshops.

 

Reports and coordination:

  • Providing external reports and information about the NACs activities under the food security project and building effective coordination and cooperation among all stakeholders
  • Data collection and writing of periodic reports weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports, besides the distribution reports which should be done after each distribution of the food baskets to project beneficiaries
 

Job Requirements

Languages Required:

  • Local language with fluent English both written and verbal

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.  
  • Preferred working background in food security and livelihood (FSL) programming.
  • Two years of experience in a related field.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

 

Experience Required:

  • At least two to four years of work experience in food security and livelihood (FSL).

 

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines.
  • Project planning and reporting
