The Afghanistan Capacity Development and Educational Organization (ACDEO) is an Afghan, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit and nationally registered NGO established in 2012. ACDEO is committed to Afghanistan’s development and is dedicated to assisting the country’s most vulnerable individuals by enhancing social welfare and promoting a better quality of life for Afghans and their families within the framework of Islam.

ACDEO provides women and children the opportunities for mental health and psychosocial counselling, and education enabling them to help themselves and their families. ACDEO has primarily focused on supporting Afghan women and their families in different areas such as Family Support Helpline, Education Promotion and Sustainability Promotion.

Job Description

Position Overview:

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project management, including project planning/budging, monitoring, community engagement in peace building and conflict resolution.

Duties & Responsibilities of Project Manager:

Under the general guidance of ACDEO’s Executive Director the Project Manager will perform the following substantive duties and responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of project related to Humanitarian response, Livelihood, conflict resolution, community engagement, and other relevant areas.
  2. Lead and coordinate project team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  3. Act as a focal point with donor for communication, reporting and any another requirement.
  4. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
  5. Utilize strong conflict resolution skills to address issues and maintain positive working relationships with team members, and other stakeholders.
  6. Engage with the community to ensure their participation and support in project activities.
  7. Write and review project proposals, reports, and other relevant documentation.
  8. Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and make adjustments as needed to ensure successful project completion.
  9. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and budget overruns.
  10. Keep the team and ACDEO senior management informed of project status, changes, and challenges through regular updates and reports.
  11. Ensure compliance with project objectives, donor requirements, and relevant regulations.
  12. Represent the ACDEO in meetings, conferences, and other relevant forums.

Job Requirements

Required Experience and Education

  1. Proven experience in project management, with a focus on Humanitarian response, Livelihood, Distribution process, conflict resolution, training and development activities.
  2. Ability to conduct community dialogues and to organize and conduct trainings to the target beneficiaries.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  4. Experience in Humanitarian and distribution process.
  5. Experience in community engagement, mobilization and Survey.
  6. Demonstrated ability to write clear and compelling project proposals.
  7. Solid understanding of project management principles and best practices.
  8. Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  10. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree is preferred.

Relevant certifications in project management or related fields are a plus.
