About ORDR Organization

Organization of Rural Development & Rehabilitation (ORDR) is a Non-Governmental, Non-Profit and Non-Political Organization registered with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) under license number. (3958). It promotes and provides development and humanitarian related services to the people of Afghanistan. Since its inception in 1995, ORDR has provided assistance in a myriad of sectors to the most poverty-stricken communities across Afghanistan. Too often; services fail to reach poor people, in access, quantity and in quality. Realizing this, ORDR’s primary goal is to improve service provision by making it people-centric. ORDR is highly sensitive to communal and individual differences; and ORDR strives to pay the outmost respect to the communities it aims to serve. ORDR has been setting the building blocks and formulating and implementing development projects that tackle deep-rooted socio-economic, institutional, and other structural causes that underlie immediate symptoms of conflict at the local levels. Transparency, accountability and efficiency are the driving factors when delivering services and goods to the people of Afghanistan.

ORDR is active in the field of Education, ES/NFIs, Humanitarian Response, WASH and Food Security and works closely with UN agencies, INGOs, Governmental and Non-governmental organization.

Job Description

Project Management and Planning

  • Prepare project implementation plan of weekly, monthly and quarterly according to the project proposal.
  • The purpose of the position is to provide technical expertise, support, and advice to all issues related to Winterization for the benefit of ORDR’s targeted communities in Northeastern Afghanistan.
  • Coordinate with other ORDR sectors and provide all necessary project-related training to ORDR staff as well as ensure that the staff is providing all the training effectively to the target beneficiaries
  • To be able effectively manage the project development plan and some capacity-building training
  • To provide a common understanding system for the project staff members in relation to the project methodology and outputs respond promised.
  • To ensure that the responsible staff creates awareness amongst the community groups about the way of the project implementation.
  • Review capacity of staff members in relation to the implementation of project activities.
  • Delegate responsibility to staff to guide and consult staff members and relevant government regarding the Winterization and other project components
  • Assist in formulation and design (identify areas of intervention, assessment, and drafting new data) of new projects at the regional level.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of field visits/meetings/workshops. File all project documents in the Program Director's office.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with other project stakeholders (Shuras, NGOs, GOs, Donors) in consultation with the Line Manager.
  • Any other official tasks as assigned by the Line Manager

 Financial Resource Management

  • In charge of budget follow up for the project and ensure the budget is spent according to the plan.
  • Cross check the expenditure against the financial reports shared by finance department
  • Support finance team to develop the bi-annual financial report to the ministry of economy
  • Ensure that the use of project assets and finances happens in a transparent way and according to project and Organization policies
  • Be responsible that the project inventories are done in a correct manner
  • Project Implementation
  • Responsible for project implementation according to the defined project proposal.
  • Develop and revise the project action plans.
  • Provide necessary orientation of the project for the project team and ensure team spirit.
  • Coordinate the project activities with related stakeholders at community, district and provincial level.
  • Provide regular field visit and coordinate the project activities at field level.
  • Organize and participate in monthly staff meetings
  • Make sure the project team has their individual plan according to the project implementation.
  • Participate in regional coordination meetings.

Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

  • Responsible to develop M&E tools for the project and seek validation by initial line manager
  • Provide regular field visits to the communities and ensure the project activities are smoothly running.
  • Ensure that qualitative and quantitative data is collected by the project team to respond the commitments defined in project’s logical framework.
  • Monthly update the Project plan and share it with line manager prior the quarterly review meetings.
  • Participate in Monthly review meetings and update rest of the project team about his/her individual project.
  • Make sure the use of different tools of the project.
  • Responsible for providing, Monthly, Quarterly and any other reports required from the project
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals of his/her respected team members

 

Job Requirements

  • Graduated from relevant Faculty of University, Master degree
  • At least five years’ experience in a higher managerial position within a relevant field of an NGO or UN organization, preferably with Citizen Charter project management experience
  • At least three years of working experience community Driven Development projects
  • Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashto, written and spoken
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and capacity to deal with different rural communities with varied political/socio-economic and educational backgrounds
  • Good supervisory, leadership, analytical, and troubleshooting skill
  • Solid knowledge of planning, budgeting, and report writing
  • Familiar with design, evaluation, and monitoring of emergency projects
  • Computer knowledge at an operational level, ORDR uses MS Office standard software
  • Ready to work, live and travel in an intricate and strenuous environment
