WeWorld-GVC is an independent organization that has been working in international cooperation and humanitarian aid for 50 years. WeWorld works in 27 countries around the world, including Afghanistan, with more than 120 emergency, humanitarian aid and development projects. Focused on projects concerning Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid to guarantee the rights of the most vulnerable communities, especially women and children. In Afghanistan, We World-GVC, support Food Security/Livelihood, ES/NFI and Protection interventions in Herat Province.
We World-GVC in the framework of its programs in Afghanistan is recruiting local staff to implement the project "Strengthening the food insecurity and disaster risk preparedness, prevention and response capacities of the Afghan population affected by the humanitarian crisis" in Herat funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

Purpose of the Role
Under the guidance and supervision of Program Manager/Technical Coordinator and Project Manager/Country Representative.
The Project Assistant/MEAL officer will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of project activities, ensuring cash distributions, documentation, and proper commodities management. The position holder will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of crises, emergencies, and relief interventions in the target district. S/he will play a key role in supporting beneficiary selection, registrations, project-related data collection, reporting, and success stories. S/he will also be responsible for community meetings and other engagements with the local authorities.
As MEAL officer under direct supervision of the Program manager/Technical Coordinator, s/he supports the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning activities of WeWorld-GVC. As MEAL Officer contributes to overall program quality through the implementation of MEAL strategies and applying tools that enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of WeWorld-GVC’s projects.
As MEAL Officer will provide technical support to WeWorld-GVC’s projects in multi-sectoral emergency, including but not limited to: carrying out monitoring field visits, roll out data collection activities, handling accountability mechanisms, drafting reports, ensuring data confidentiality and security. S/he will provide support to WeWorld-GVC staff and will work closely with partner’s staff on the implementation sites, providing capacity building/coaching sessions where relevant. The Project Assistant/MEAL Officer will be based in Herat and will be required frequent travels to WeWorld-GVC’s Areas of Intervention (Kushk Robat-Sangi district) on regular basis.
