The Officer CSOs Support is an important and integral part of the War Child Canada’s Program Implementation team. The position holder will be responsible to work closely with the Justice Program Manager on all CSO related activities under the SPEAC project. He will be leading organizing dialogues among community leaders, CSOs, child rights and child protection actors, youths, and religious leaders, to identify gaps in child protection field and recommend steps for consideration in new laws. He will also be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationship and networking with partners and other stakeholder including the community-based structures for coordination and ensure their collaboration during the implementation of program activities and engaging with educational institutions to organize debates and seminars on child rights and protection. .issues.
Responsibilities: The CSOs Support Officer will support the project as:
1) Conduct assessment and mapping of Afghan civils society organizations (CSOs), child rights and protection actors, youths and Ulema and engage them to support program.
2) Establish contacts with the mapped civil CSOs, child rights and protection actors, youths and religious leaders and orientation.
3) Assess the existing tools and check list and suggest further improvement.
4) Conduct ToT workshop for the project staff on community dialogue
5) Monthly task force meetings with WCC chairing
6) Develop partnership with private universities and organize lectures on child rights;
7) Establish a policy advocacy alliance or Task Force ‘Children Protection Alliance’ composed of like-minded civil society activists, rights and protection actors including Ulema and academia.
8) Review and refine existing tools related to advocacy.
9) Facilitate community dialogues among com
munity leaders, civil society and rights activists, and child protection actors to identify gaps and recommend steps for advocacy in relation to child rights and protection in new laws.
10) Advocacy supported by Afghan civil society contributes to effective legislation, policies and practices against child abuse practices.
11) Organize meetings with political leaders, public representatives, rights activists, opinion makers and donors to seek their support for the project.
12) Develop and finalize a CSO training curriculum/plan that includes methods and tools for CSO engagement in this project
13) CSOs are assisted to develop a community based advocacy strategy based on the findings from situation analysis (workshop, data analysis, consultation with the relevant stakeholders and communication and outreach.
14) CSOs develop action plan/design community dialogues to address children right violations, protection concerns and barriers to victim children re[1]integration in the community.
15) Provide technical assistance to other programs as requested
Occasional Significant Duties:
1) Identify new programming needs and contribute to new project concept development
2) Liaise with NGOs, universities, CPAN, CP-AoR, child protection actors and organizations to strengthen coordination and referral system.
3) Strong coordination within the department whole staff and other departments for better implementation of the program related activities
4) Build and maintain trusted and effective relationship and coordination with partners.
5) Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor that are within the general scope of the described responsibilities
Documentation, Reporting and Learning:
1) File reports for activities and accomplishments on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, or as otherwise assigned.
2) Prepare and submit reports to the program manager.
3) Maintain all the CSOs related documents on regular bases.
Academic Background and Knowledge:
• Should have University degree in relevant field.
• Should have 2 to 3 years working experience in Civil Society Engagement, capacity building, advocacy, research, and assessment

• Excellent in written and verbal English with good analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Dari or Pashtu is mandatory
