About Society Empowerment Organization (SEO)

SEO is a local NGO founded in 2008 to assist in humanitarian aid, education, returnees, internally Displaced People (IDPs), economic development, demand-driven vocational training, apprenticeship, income generation projects, and legal assistance. SEO's current projects in Afghanistan include Emergency Response, Food Assistance Distribution, Education, Legal Assistance, and Economic Growth for marginalized populations, Returnees, Internally Displaced Persons, and vulnerable families.

Job Description

Overview: The Program Manager will oversee the implementation, coordination, and administration of the Creative Employment Solutions for Afghan Women project. The role involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the program meets its objectives within the allocated timeframe and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, activities, and resource allocation.
    • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of the project, ensuring adherence to the program objectives and timelines.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Liaise with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and international partners.
    • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships to support program activities.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and manage the project team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress and address any challenges.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to assess program effectiveness.
    • Prepare regular progress reports for SEO.
  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee the project budget, ensuring all expenditures are within the approved budget.
    • Work with the finance team to prepare financial reports and ensure transparency in fund utilization

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Development, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, particularly in women’s empowerment or employment projects.
  • Strong understanding of the socio-political context in Afghanistan.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in Dari/Pashto, and English.
