Job Description

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, timelines, and strategies for economic development programs, aligning activities with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  • Ensure effective execution of economic development projects, overseeing project implementation, budget management, and resource allocation.
  • Foster partnerships and collaborations with government agencies, local authorities, community organizations, and private sector stakeholders to support economic development initiatives.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify needs, priorities, and opportunities for economic empowerment and livelihood enhancement within target communities.
  • Contribute to the design and development of economic development programs, incorporating best practices, innovative approaches, and lessons learned to maximize impact and sustainability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to program teams in the implementation of economic development activities, ensuring adherence to project objectives and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks for economic development programs, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), data collection tools, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Conduct regular programmatic reviews, evaluations, and assessments to track progress, measure impact, and identify opportunities for program improvement and adaptation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors, stakeholders, and internal teams for economic development programs, preparing narrative reports, financial reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Document program achievements, success stories, and lessons learned to inform organizational learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote economic development, livelihood enhancement, and entrepreneurship opportunities for vulnerable and marginalized populations.
  • Participate in relevant forums, networks, and working groups to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and build partnerships for economic empowerment.

Job Requirements

Qualification:

  • Master's degree in economics, business administration, or a related field with management specialization is required. PMP certification is also a plus point
  • At least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in designing, managing, and implementing economic development programs, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation, with a track record of successful project implementation and delivery.
  • Strong technical expertise in economic development, livelihood enhancement, entrepreneurship, microfinance, value chain development, and/or market systems development.

Commitment and dedication:

  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to organizational policies
  • Willingness to travel to provinces when planed by the management
  • Willingness to work outside official hours

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in both national language (Dari & Pashto) oral and written
  • Fluency in English is a must both oral and written
