Job Description

• Overall responsible of organizing and delivering of nutrition services in TFU.
• Conducting regular examinations on complicated acutely malnourished children and clearly record all patient data of health and normal physical development in IPD_SAM treatment cards.
• Diagnosis and hospitalize the severe acutely malnourished children based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history, lab exams.
• Prescribe medications and give detailed instructions regarding each Complicated cases to care givers and nutrition nurse and additional specialized medical care to prevent or treat diseases and complications that are associated with malnutrition.
• Monitor treatment progress and conditions and revise treatments as needed.
• Advise caregivers on children’s healthy diet, food diversity, immunization.
• Working closely with the TFU other staff to ensure all protocols are understood and agreed and appropriate referrals take place to and from the OPD.
• Liaising with the community facilitators, home health/nutrition promoters to provide effective follow up of default cases
• Ensuring adequate availability of all drugs and nutrition supply and ensuring stock is pre-positioned as planned and informing the supervisors in case of shortages to avoid the stock out.
• Making sure that screening process is going well for all less than 5y children.
• Making sure that all the reports are well recorded and submitted on monthly or weekly bases as required.
• Follow and respect recommended MoPH and WHO guidelines/ protocols in the treatment of patients.
• Any other tasks which will be assigned by line supervisor
