Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of patients' psychosocial needs
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address patients' psychosocial needs
  • Individual Counseling: Conducting one-on-one counseling sessions with clients, focusing on their psychosocial well-being, mental health, and drug use recovery.
  • Group Therapy: Facilitating group therapy sessions to address common challenges, promote peer support, and enhance relapse prevention skills.
  • To provide comprehensive risk reduction counseling services as needed to target groups in need of assistance with making behavior changes to reduce the transmission of blood-borne infection and avoid other risky drugs with OST.
  • Educate patients on OST, mental health, and recovery
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborating with the treatment team to develop personalized treatment plans for each client, integrating psychosocial aspects into the overall care, The psychosocial counselor should share the main challenges of clients with medical doctors during the motivation stage.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conducting psychosocial assessments, identifying clients' needs, strengths, and areas requiring intervention.
  • Providing immediate support and counseling during crisis situations or relapse episodes, ensuring the well-being and safety of clients.
  • Referrals and Collaboration: Liaising with other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care, making referrals when necessary
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate and confidential client records, collecting clients’ consent, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with relevant regulations and ethical standards.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with the medical team, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals involved in the OST program to ensure integrated care.
  • Reporting: Providing regular progress reports, statistical data, and any other required documentation to the supervisor or management team.
  • Adherence to professional codes of conduct, confidentiality, and client rights.
  • Conduct outreach activities in order to deliver harm reduction services as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by PM
  • Prepare and submit monthly activity reports and data

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

Degree: Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in providing psychosocial counseling, preferably in OST or addiction treatment settings.

Knowledge: Familiarity with OST protocols, addiction treatment modalities, and relevant psychosocial interventions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
