Job Description

Background:

Youth Health and Development Organization (YHDO) is an Afghanistan nongovernmental organization that promotes health, and advocate for the right of young people in the country. YHDO will implement the HIV NFM grant (Scaling up HIV interventions among Key Affected Populations in Afghanistan) in Balkh, Badakhshan and Kunduz provinces. Therefore, YHDO is looking to recruit a qualified Nurse for OST in Balkh province to perform the activities which are related to the OST center in the province.

Position Description:

The Nurse will be responsible for the overall management of the health center and representing YHDO to the community stakeholders. The Nurse will work under the supervision of the Facility Coordinator will be reportable to the Facility Coordinator.

Specific Responsibilities:

• To actively participate in regular management and Clinical Supervision of Drop-in Centre.
• To keep regular clinical records and statistics.
• To assess, manage and treat individual clients with minor illness according to agreed protocols.
• To participate in Harm reduction training for clients, specifically concerning Safe Injecting and Overdose Prevention and management.
• Prepare monthly activities report to his/her line manager.
• To provide medical primary care (injections, bandages, vaccinations) for the PWUD in the DIC every day.
• To perform emergency first care, if needed.
• To bring patients at the hospital if emergency or discrimination issues/family issues.
• Perform other related activities assigned by his line manager.
