OPHM is committed to promote the lives of communities through provision of comprehensive and standardized health, education and development services; conducting trainings, researches, surveys and evaluations independently and/or collaboratively at local, national and international levels that would ultimately result in a sustainable well-being and self-reliance of vulnerable communities /age groups (Especially of the women of reproductive age and under five children).
OHPM selected by the UNICEF and WHO and is responsible to delivering the SEHATMANDI BPHS&EPHS in Kapisa, Paktika and Helmand provinces and implementing other vertical projects in Khost, Parwan, Panjshir and Kandahar provinces funded by the UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, WHO, WFP, according to established and agreed targets (for quality and coverage), and thereby contribute to achieving the goals of the Ministry of Public Health which are to: Reduce maternal and newborn mortality, Reduce under 5 mortality, improve child health and nutrition.
Over all responsibilities
The OBs & Gynecologist (Specialist) is responsible for the overall MCH activities in the health facility
Specific Responsibilities:
• To ensure provision of quality and standard Gyn/Obs care and services based on EPHS/BPHS requirements.
• To perform minor and major Gynecological procedures adhering to regulatory and ethical protocols.
• Follow up the care of high risk and complicated obstetrics and gynecology cases.
• To ensure safe delivery.
• To perform night duty according to schedule and on call when needed.
• Ensure that all procedures relating to infection prevention are followed.
• Ensure all patient documentation records are completed.
• To ensure hygiene and infection prevention measures in ward and safe deal with waste and sharps.
• To ensure proper diagnosis of Gyn/Obs Patients and standard treatment including controlling over miss prescription.
• To ensure all physical diagnostic steps such as history taking examination investigation and health education are followed by doctors with each individual case.
• To ensure that patients’ files are properly followed/ filed by doctors and nurses.
• To attend morning report visit and round.
• To plan technical seminars provision of on the job training and upgrade technical capacity of the staff.
• Attend all Gyn/Obs related consultancies and second call as per need.
• To ensure on time referral and investigate death case and submit technical reasons and defenses for death.
• To ensure that project targets are achieved according to the plan
• To ensure that all standards form patient files emergency stock/equipments and other supplies are existed and functioning.
• To ensure implementation of hospital standards according to MoPH.
• To ensure proper implementation of HMIS.
• Overall management of Gyn/Obs department in the absence of Head of the ward and any other relevant task given by OHPM and line management.
REPORTING
-To provide to Hospital director monthly action plans and monthly reports
