Job Description

• Screen all children (24-59 months) for Acute malnutrition in the Health Facility.
• Examine all children (0-59 months) for any signs of co-existing illnesses such as pneumonia and diarrhea, Hyperthermia, Dehydration, Anemia etc. and referral according to the guidelines.
• Admit eligible children into the relevant program for Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, including anthropometry and health check-ups, for OPD-SAM cases.
• Perform appetite test for new and returning SAM cases
• Refer cases of severe acute malnutrition with medical complications in children 6-59 months to the nearest in-patient care facility following the Op Mercy referral SOP.
• Refer any infants (<6 months of age) identified as needed in-patient care according to the IMAM guidelines
• Liaise with the Nutrition Outreach Supervisor to ensure that IMAM defaulters and non-responders are followed up with home visits
• Give appropriate nutrition, health and hygiene education to the beneficiaries and care takers and community
• Administer vaccines to children and mothers while maintaining proper temperature control.
• Fill treatment cards and ration cards for new and returning children.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for admitted children.
• Prepare activity reports (weekly and monthly) of nutrition component of the project.
• Any other task assigns by line supervisor or manager.

General:
