The USAID funded Urban Health Initiative (UHI) Program’s goal is to improve health outcomes of people living in urban areas, particularly focusing on the health of women and children and other vulnerable populations. Interventions aim to increase demand, access and quality of health services. Lead by Jhpiego and implemented by a dynamic consortium of organizations, UHI is implemented in five cities in Afghanistan – Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar.
Performing normal births and providing family guidance services for patients who visit the hospital.
• Promoting the related affairs of patient care, such as registering vital signs, jaundice, adjusting
medicine according to the doctor's prescription and dressing wounds in the relevant service.
• Accurate collection of information and figures about inpatients and outpatients who have been
under care.
• Active participation in the planning and implementation of various in-service trainings for local
health workers within the hospital.
• Actively raising the level of professional knowledge, especially in relation to health guidelines and
professional activities.
• Performing night duties according to the hospital duty schedule.
• Good and friendly treatment with clients and colleagues.
• Subscription to the morning reports of the hospital.
• Perform all other official duties assigned by the hospital administration.
• Participating in implementing hospital standards, especially in the maternity department, and being
a member of the hospital's PQI committee
• Participating in the evaluation of hospital standards and preparing a work plan to adapt the
standards.
• Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Graduation from Institute of Health Science (Nursing Program) sdjfkh
• At least Three years of work experience in a similar position
Ability to work successfully in teams, across a diverse team in a complex environment with multiple
tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
• Strong skills in facilitation, team building and coordination
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong writing, analytical and
communication skills in Dari, Pashtu and English (preferable)
• Experience working with Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, Word, Outlook Explorer,
Power Point) is advantageous
