Job Description

Job purpose:

The incumbent of this position is responsible to keep the rental vehicle clean and maintained at all times and drive the vehicle for official travel and business, or as assigned by Supervisor and or Project Manager. Furthermore, he is responsible to ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and internally agreed standards.

 

The Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Keep the vehicle clean and maintained at all times.
  • Perform preventative and regular maintenance on vehicle.
  • Follow route and time schedule.
  • Drive vehicle for official travel and business, or as assigned by Logistic Officer.
  • Observing the road and traffic laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
  • Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and internally agreed standards.
  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times.
  • Ensure the vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.
  • Prepare and submit vehicle monitoring reports, including records of vehicle operations, maintenance, expenses, mileage, at the end of each month.
  • Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, etc.
  • Deliver important documents to required destinations.
  • Other tasks deemed necessary or as requested by your Line Manager.

Job Requirements

Person Specification

War Child in Afghanistan operates in a dynamic environment with a team of highly motivated and dedicated staff. The right candidate will share these qualities and bring effective leadership to a diverse team. The successful candidate will be creative problem solver and foster a solution-based approach to management.

Experience and mandatory criteria:

  • Having Secondary/High school certificate.
  • At least 2 Years’ experience.
  • Have Driving License
  • Proficiency Pashto and Persian languages are highly essential, [i.e., reading, writing and speaking]
  • Patient and with a good understanding of humanitarian and development work.
  • Hardworking and able to work with people from different backgrounds.
  • Honest and accountable.
  • Commitment to and understanding of War Child UK values.
