Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The incumbent in this position is responsible for contributing to the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities as per the plan given in the FCDO-RISE project proposal. In addition, S/he will contribute to the preparation of the reports and case studies and maintaining the project data. The M&E officer will work in close coordination with the regional M&E and MERL unit in Kabul.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead in the development of tools and methodologies for poverty/food security assessments, beneficiary profiling, and developing tracking and evaluation system for Food security and livelihood development plans.
  • Contribute and support the design of baseline, and end-line studies as proposed in the FASL M&E plan through technical inputs in the areas of design, implementation, and reporting.
  • Lead in the development of millstones for tracking the progress of the project on a periodic basis.
  • Contribute to the preparation and facilitation of ToTs and enumerators training for all M&E-related studies where required.
  • Provide support in updating projects PMF in coordination with the regional MERL team. Coordinate with the GIS and MIS Officer in maintaining the project data.
  • Contribute to maintaining data quality through proper supervision, training, and feedback loops.
  • Support the data extraction and provide data and information for adoptive management and Global Core Indicators when needed.
  • Organize and conduct joint monitoring visits to the project area to track the progress against the objectives and outputs of the project.
  • Support and contribute to AFS sector monitoring processes by providing technical inputs and ensuring that all monitoring reports are documented and presented.
  • Ensure a high level of integration with other AKF sectors and Subsectors and other Sector activities. 
  • Carry out the role and responsibilities in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to Safeguarding Policy.
  • To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.

OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and coordinate in the implementation of project activities that has high relevance and integration with AFS projects.
  • Contribute to / and coordinate the proposal development dissemination of monitoring and evaluation findings across programs.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor.
 

Job Requirements

JOB SPECIFICATION

  • At least Bachelor’s in social science, economy, and related field.
  • Experience with database management.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the same field with excellent English writing skills.
  • Female candidates with 2-3 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Having experience with Google Earth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Proficiency in GIS software.
