Job Description

Background

The International Assistance Mission (IAM) is an International Non-Government Organization registered in Switzerland (registration #CH-660-1239000-6) and Afghanistan (registration #001). IAM is one of the oldest NGOs in Afghanistan.

Purpose of the organization

The International Assistance Mission (IAM) is serving the people of Afghanistan through capacity building in the sectors of Health and Economical Development.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities and tasks:

Work on overall bank process and procedures.
Work on overall tax process and procedure.
Preparation of monthly reports for projects/Team Members and work accounts.
Send Donor funds confirmation to the projects.
Assist projects for their severance adjustments/ opening new severance number for staff as well as communicating with projects for their severance balance confirmations.
Management of unknown deposits to maintain limited balance in unknown deposits.
Work on Monthly Reconciliations according to the monthly check list.
Checking/verifying all bank vouchers.
Maintaining bank supporting documents.
Preparing monthly bank checklist.
File annual tax return to MTO and obtain tax clearance in a timely manner.
Receiving bank statements from the bank and perform bank entries.
Provides back up from the system on weekly basis.
Maintain Financial files and records.
Prepare payroll tax details and summary.
Send out expat taxes form each month.
Collect paperwork for withholding taxes.
Obtain TIN for the new Staff from Ministry of finance.
Follow up all tax forms with MTO regularly.
Any other task assigned by line manager.

Job Requirements

Qualifications, skills, and experience:

Bachelor's degree with 4 years or more experience in Accounting & Finance or related field, preferably in NGOs. Baccalaureate degree with 6 years or more experience in Accounting & Finance or related field, preferably in NGOs.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel)
Accounting and Financial skills
Taxation skills
Understand Accounting software, preferably in (MIP accounting software).
Fluency in Dari
Highly confident in Speaking, Reading, and Writing English.
Understanding and passion for IAM core values and approach essential.
