In Afghanistan, AKF works with rural communities in mountainous, remote or resource poor areas to improve quality of life in the areas of natural resource management, market development, governance, education, and health.

Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Enterprise development contributes significantly to improving income an employment opportunity of communities and is important aspect of economic inclusion. It needs specialized effort in assessment, module development, mentoring, product development, managing enterprises and market linkages for providing technical inputs and facilitation for enabling entrepreneurial environment to individual and group enterprises for utilizing local potential for income and employment opportunities, leading to inclusive economic growth.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordination:
    1. Coordinate for developing of annual Market assessment in overall target provinces of AKF in Afghanistan and identify the potential enterprises.
    2. Coordinate the Enterprise Intervention/Activities under strategic objective of MDP under different grants objectives and build the capacity of technical team for smooth implementation planning, budgeting, facilitating, and monitoring (Enterprises, BMOs, BDSPs, Input suppliers and lead firms).
    3. Develop and prepare timely technical reports based on requirement of relevant donor’s objectives from all targets regional offices and keep all the data and records up to date.
    4. Coordinate and liaise with the relevant government agencies, donors, and private sectors at national and regional level.
    5. Coordinate and liaise with the relevant AKF sectors at national and regional level.
  • Technical support:
    1. Responsible for developing enterprise training modules on technical, management and financial aspects of selected Value chains.
    2. Support regional EI team in facilitating capacity building of enterprises through trainings, exposure visit etc.
    3. Support regional EI teams on market linkages, product & market promotions of enterprise supported by regional teams.
    4. Contribute to refining enterprise development strategies and operational procedures of MDP.
    5. Contribute to Improving the operational systems, processes, and policies for MSMEs.
    6. Facilitate the development of new enterprises & the development of their business modelling and planning, focusing on the ones which can fill the gaps in the value chain and create more employment opportunity.
    7. Prepare case studies, articles, promotional materials for AKF and its partners (NGOs, business associations, business service providers and lead enterprises).
    8. Developed concept for new ideas based on regional requirement and support the team developing of new proposals for new grants relating to MSMEs Developed concept for new ideas based on regional requirement and support the team developing of new proposals for new grants relating to MSMEs.
    9. Improve the operational systems and processes of reporting, information flow, project processes and organizational planning for effectively achieving organizations mission.

 

OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the coordinator informed of all critical issues.
  • Perform any other relevant responsibility assigned by the supervisor.

 

DECISION-MAKING & AUTHORITY

  • As and when assigned by supervisor.
 

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

JOB SPECIFICATION

  • University Degree in Economic, Business, Agro Business, Administration, Marketing and Project Management, or a related discipline. Postgraduate in relevant discipline will be preferred.
  • At least 5 years work experience in the enterprise development and promotion with national and international organizations.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex dynamics of private sector and enterprise development environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skill in English and national languages.
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team to undertake tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to work under pressure with tight deadline.
  • Willing to travel in remote project areas.
