SEO's current projects in Afghanistan include Emergency Response, Food Assistance Distribution, Education, Legal Assistance, and Economic Growth for marginalized populations, Returnees, Internally Displaced Persons, and vulnerable families.

Job Description

Overview: The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing the M&E framework to track the progress and impact of the project. This role involves data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure the program meets its objectives and provides measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • M&E Framework Development:
    • Develop a comprehensive M&E plan, including key performance indicators, data collection methods, and reporting schedules.
    • Create tools and templates for data collection and analysis.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Conduct baseline, midline, and endline surveys to assess program impact.
    • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from program participants and stakeholders.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare detailed M&E reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide regular updates to the Program Manager and funding partners.
  • Capacity Building:
    • Train project staff and partners on M&E processes and best practices.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through regular feedback and learning sessions.
 

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in development projects.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata).
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in Dari/Pashto, and English.
