Position Summary: The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will work under the direction of the Chief of Party and the Evaluation/Monitoring Team Leads. The M&E Officer will provide high quality research, analysis, and data management support. This is a full-time position in Kabul, Afghanistan, for five months with a possibility of extension. Responsibilities: Review background document. Assist in creating team lead research packages. Conduct data cleaning and evaluation using Excel, Access, and other database software platforms. Undertake literature reviews, database searches, document reviews, and other research. Assist in programmatic cataloging of activity. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis as needed. Provide support on database management and record keeping as required. Assist the assignment managers as needed. Other tasks as designated by senior staff.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in international relations, economics, statistics, public policy, research method, program assessment, business management, or another relevant field. Minimum of four (4) years of international development experience preferred. Experience in evaluation, auditing, or financial management. Experience with research methods. Competency with Excel required. Ability to learn new software such as MAXQDA and STATA. Fluency in English and the local language is required.
