About Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA)

About (WASSA):

The Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 as Afghanistan's first women’s independent organization. WASSA aims to promote the women’s equal participation in socio-economic sectors and support the current humanitarian crisis by providing emergency humanitarian and livelihood assistance to vulnerable households, especially women.

To support WASSA’s vision and mission, some potential candidates are needed to be recruited for a project funded by UN Women to strengthen women’s livelihoods through increased access to skills and resources. The project will be implemented in three districts of Herat Province for a period of 15 months.

Job Description

  1. Taking regular classes as per weekly time table (theory and practice)
  2. Maintaining an acceptable level of discipline in the class.
  3. Ensuring presence of all students during the period.
  4. Submitting syllabus breakup along with training materials by the given date and time.
  5. Ensuring syllabus coverage as per the submitted plan.
  6. Providing opportunity for each student to work practically and explain the notions as theoretical presentation.
  7. Submitting, in writing, syllabus coverage report at the end of each month.
  8. Taking frequent class tests, quizzes, spot tests and recording results of all the conducted tests.
  9. Ensuring that Home Work is given and that all students note down the home work in their diaries. Teacher should write down the home work herself in case of junior students. Diaries must be signed by the teacher.
  10. Advising students in all areas especially home work. Students not responding to the class needs to be reported to the Project Manager or Head Master.
  11. Reporting any unwanted incidences immediately, to the concerned person.
  12. Providing immediate help/aid in case of injury or a student not feeling well Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs, abilities, and interests
  13. Observe and evaluate student’s work to determine progress and make suggestions for improvements
  14. Plan and conduct activities for balanced program for instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe question and investigate
  15. Prepare monthly lesson plan and submit to the Project Manager
  16. Any other duty or responsibility assigned by the competent authority.

  1. Proper cooperation and communication with program manager, executive director and donor.
  2. Ensure proper communication with lower staff.
  1. Project Orders
  1. Ensure proper and secure of project starting and progress.
  2. Reporting the progress of project scope of work to the program manager, executive director and donor agency.
 

Job Requirements

Language Skills:            Basic in English, Dari and Pashtu

Computer Skills:           Proven working knowledge of ICDL, Windows XP, package of office, e-mail communication.

Technical Skills:            Proven experience in working with some form of technical equipment.

Teamwork:                    Ability to work in a team, often under stressful conditions, with both international and national staff

Communication:          Excellent communication skills in Basic English and Dari or Pashtu,  strong negotiation skills.
