ounselor will conduct counsel sessions for children and their families at the MHTNTs center & at homes. They will conduct advocacy meeting /training for community leaders & stakeholder, and Health Shura.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES
1. Support outreach workers to identify children and their families to be part of MHNTs centre
2. Maintain daily counselling schedule with children/family/Health Shura.
3. Provide counselling sessions with children's families on a monthly basis and maintain case records.
4. Provide weekly group counselling sessions with MHNTs according to planned schedule
5. Liaise with outreach workers on MHNTs follow up in the field
6. Conduct advocacy meetings/training with families of MHNTs regarding school attendance.
7. Follow up standard methods for helping children and their parents
8. Conducting advocacy sessions on child protection and against child abuse.
9. Maintain close cooperation with religious/police /stake holder leaders regarding community awareness of children's rights
10. Conducting counselling sessions for staff of the MHNTs canter.
11. Participant in all training conducted by project
12. Preparing monthly report to Project Manager/Health coordinator
13. Any other duties assigned by Project Manager/Health coordinator
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
At least 2 years’ experience working with children and/or vulnerable groups as a teacher or PSS counsellor.
Required Education,
• High School graduation is required. Nurse, Midwife degree or Psychosocial is preferred.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluency in Dari and Pashto
• Strong capacity building & facilitation skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
