Job Description

Job Summary

The Nurse is responsible for overall management/treatment and provide nursing services for mobile target group.

 

Job Description

  • Register and undertake growth monitoring including weight, height, Mid Upper Arm Circumference Measurement of all children under two years of age
  • Classify children in normal, Moderate Acute malnutrition (MAM) and Sever Acute Malnutrition (SAM) categories
  • Briefing to beneficiaries on how to use the drugs, RUTF, RUSF, other food and when to return for follow up visit.
  • Collect accurate nutrition information using HMIS standard formats
  • Reviewing and Mapping of the communities have poor access to health and nutrition services.
  • Community sensitization and conduct counseling for caregivers of all under two years children on appropriate infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices and on prevention of infections based on their status
  • The SAM cases should be referred to the doctor for giving adequate treatment
  • Administer Vitamin A if the child has not received Vitamin A supplementation during the previous NID
  • Promote consumption of iodized salt
  • Triage the patients and provide first aid
  • Manage shock including open vein and control of bleeding
  • Wound care and dressing
  • Identification of fracture including neck, spinal cord and its stabilization/immobilization
  • Cooperate the doctor in distribution of medicine to the patients
  • Assess the psychosocial status of affected people
  • Provide psychosocial counseling for individual and groups
  • Refer complicated cases to doctor or higher levels and follow up of cases
  • Support the conduction of nutrition and health education sessions to clients who are searching MHNT services.
  • Provide weekly and monthly report
  • Any task/assignment by line supervisor

Job Requirements

  • MoPH certified nurse  
  • At least 2 years’ experience with BPHS
  • Familiar with training of Nutrition, psychological counseling plus point
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in health project management and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to travel to the targeted location
  • Ability to support provincial team and provide/receive constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of planning/organizing/communication skills
