About Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA)

About (WASSA):

The Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 as Afghanistan's first women’s independent organization. WASSA aims to promote the women’s equal participation in socio-economic sectors and support the current humanitarian crisis by providing emergency humanitarian and livelihood assistance to vulnerable households, especially women.

To support WASSA’s vision and mission, some potential candidates are needed to be recruited for a project funded by UN Women to strengthen women’s livelihoods through increased access to skills and resources. The project will be implemented in three districts of Herat Province for a period of 15 months.

Job Description

Monitoring:

  • Managing and conducting the Monitoring activities of the projects in accordance to the donor requirements as well as the WASSA Monitoring and Evaluation Policy and tools.
  • Leading and coordinating implementation of various types of assessments, verifications of beneficiaries through surveys
  • Conducting onsite monitoring of project activities and processes where necessary
  • Developing checklists and Monitoring tools for the project activities and output level monitoring
  • Conducting Post Distribution Monitoring Surveys where required
  • With Support from supervisor ensure project documents such as logical framework, Indicator Tracking Table (ITT), Monitoring Plan are established and up to date
  • Ensuring project ITT is updated, the data provided is verified and validated on as per the donor/WASSA agreed frequency
  • Ensuring Means of Verifications for project activities such as participant lists are verified and validated for all the activities of the project
  • Guiding and training the project staff to conduct Focus Groups Discussion with the project beneficiaries to acquire their feedback and reflect it to the project management for decision making and reformatory actions if necessary
  • Preparing field visit reports and sharing with Program Manager/ Executive director.
  • Ensuring enumerators/ project staff are trained and oriented on data collection methodology.
  • Providing feedback to the Project Manager on project strategies implementation and activities.
  • Ensuring the quality assurance for each project
  • Suggesting strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying drawbacks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such drawbacks.
  • Performing the qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Considering the cross-cutting issues for every project

Evaluation

  • With Support from MEAL team, develop and design documents for project baseline and end-line evaluation based on the donor requirements and WASSA Evaluation guidelines
  • Ensure accurate and reliable data is collected for baseline and evaluation of the project
  • Ensure Evaluations/ Baseline are planned on timely basis and final products delivered on time
  • Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success;
  • Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results;
  • Monitor the sustainability of the project's results;

Accountability

  • Operate and manage safe and accessible Feedback and Complaints Response Mechanism (FCRM).
  • Build capacity of all staff, partners and project participants on accountability
  • Ensure all project participants are aware of the FCRM, key project information, and expectations
  • Periodic review of accountability practices

Learning:

  • Promoting organizational learning and knowledge sharing;
  • Collecting the information from beneficiaries in writing the success stories;
  • Generate lessons learned from the project and sharing with project team for improvement of the interventions;
  • Supporting project managers in improving learning and sharing mechanism in their project;

Reporting

  • Lead in writing monitoring reports after field visits;
  • Support on other reports assigned (e.g. verification report, PDM report, ITT report);
  • Reporting the impact assessment for each project;
  • Developing lessons learnt reports and share with the program manager;

Other Duties:

  • Creating coordination among the partners;
  • Preparing the case stories;
  • Collecting the activities photos and sharing with the Donor;
  • Checking the weekly and monthly reports of each project staff.

Job Requirements

•At least 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E/MIS in development projectss implemented by national/international NGOs/UN bodies/ Government;
•Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
•Proven ICT skills, especially in the development of MIS software using database software;
•Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software;
•Strong training & facilitation skills.

Language Requirements:
Fluency in both written and spoken English Dari and Pashtu a plus.
