About HEWAD, Reconstruction, Health & Humanitarian Assistance Committee

HEWADis a preeminent first responder, HEWAD provides emergency relief to those struck by conflict, disaster and disease—no matter where they are, no matter what the conditions—working with them to recover, rebuild and gain the skills and tools required for self-reliance. After the emergency has passed and our disaster-relief effort has ended, we shift from emergency medical response to long-term medical support and training. HEWAD provides resources and training to help local staff provide a range of services—including healthcare, food, water and sanitation support—to their communities.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops a viable project M&E plan and tools, seek feedback, and make sure there is consensus on the plan and approaches;
  • Implements the plan, including identification and utilization of data sources;
  •  sharing necessary information on time for M&E;
  • Carries out regular discussions with stakeholder organizations to seek feedback on Project implementation;
  • Conduct regular monitoring site visits per the approved M&E plan;
  • Review and report progress of the project towards the agreed indicators and targets; 
  • Collect and review annual/quarterly and monthly reports and uploaded in donor database as required ;
  • Develop/adapt monitoring checklist for training and project; 
  • Participate in the identification and formulation of the gender component work plans and projects by compiling and analyzing information;
  • Regularly monitor implementation of the programs in the targeted provinces for improvement in the quality of services and attainment of planned results;
  • Consultation with Project officer and Manager on appropriate project adjustment strategies if required;
  • Responsible for all evaluation and project closure activities;
  • Provides inputs to technical advisors and Project officer on donor reporting and
  • Public relations;
  • Provides inputs to Project Officer in the project monitoring, reporting, and planning;
  • Provides inputs and develops stories and communication materials in collaboration with government partners, and UN-Women communication teams;
  • Ensures that projects are implemented in accordance with UNWOMEN M&E policies and oher relevant UNWOMENN rules and regulations
  •  Undertake other duties per the requirements of the project;
  • Submit – on a timely basis.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years (applicants with only a bachelor’s degree) professional experience in a senior M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities of international development projects 
  • Proven success in designing, implementing and operating project M&E systems from project initiation to closeout stages.
  • Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and/performance monitoring plans.
  • Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies.
  • Experience developing and refining data collection tools.
  • Experience with data quality assessments and oversight.
  • Ability to facilitate and serve as a project liaison for externally managed evaluations.
  • Ability to travel to the projects sites/areas as needed and as security situation allows
  •       Fluency in local languages (Dari and/or Pashto) and English.
