About AWEC

AWEC is a non-political, non-profit, woman-headed national organization established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, who rallied together to address the lack of facilities for Afghan refugees in Islamabad and eventually Peshawar, in Pakistan. AWEC has always been involved in advocacy and awareness-raising for women and children’s rights while providing services to those who frequently fall through safety nets. In recent years, one of AWEC’s core activities has been to support women through mobilizing Afghans, from local communities to political elites, towards the goal of reducing and eventually eliminating violence against women.

Our vision in AWEC is “an inclusive and just society with sensitized and responsive public and private sector, where all women and children have access to opportunities to improve their quality of life in order to realize their full potential”.

Job Description

Position Objective

Assist the project team and monitoring coordinator in the overall implementation and management of monitoring, evaluation, impact assessment and information management for a high quality, innovative and effective learning programme.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop outputs and outcomes, and establish targets that link to project activities.
  • Develop a performance monitoring framework to measure progress, effectiveness, and achievement of expected results, specifying qualitative and quantitative indicators, data sources, and collection methods.
  • Establish and support the implementation of a data management system to inform planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Work with project staff to ensure accountability systems are in place that engages beneficiaries and stakeholders in evaluations, impact assessments, and research.
  •  Undertake regular visits to field locations to support monitoring, evaluation, impact assessment, and accountability processes.
  •  Monitor and document the progress of Project activities against agreed indicators and the impact of programs to inform the overall Project strategy.
  • Collect accurate and timely data on Project activities and utilize the project management cycle to reflect and analyze results and feedback, develop best practices, and implement lessons learned into the project.

Perform any other task as instructed by the line manager

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor in relevant field

Experience& Skills:  

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years Experience and knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and needs/impact assessment methods
  • Skills in implementing information management and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Problem-solving and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in local (Pashto and Dari) language and good written and spoken English.
  • Computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word, and ability to use computer programs to collect, document, and share assessment and monitoring results.
  • Willing to be able to travel within project area/districts.
  •  Commitment to and understanding of AWEC aims, values, and principles.
