Afghanistan has made significant progress in Education sector, as per officially confirmed statistics from the Ministry of Education, today there are over 9 million students of whom %39 are girls participating in formal education – including Public and private schools, Community Based Education (CBE) in Afghanistan.

However, there are still millions out of school children face many challenges in having access to quality education and learning opportunities. Girls in particular are more on the receiving end of these challenges with limited or no  access  to  education  in  parts  of  the  country.

HHOA works at gross root level  and has expertise in delivering programs such as education, vocational skills training, child protection, gender based violence, WASH in schools and communities, healthy communities, greening Afghanistan and alternative livelihoods over the years. 

Job Description

  • To facilitate training and capacity building activities for HHOA staff, CBE teachers with a focus on DEOs, school principals and teachers.
  • Identify training needs of HHOA Staff, community mobilizers, CBE teachers, design and propose the required trainings accordingly
  • Implement capacity needs assessments and use results to inform professional development activities
  • Write reports according to the project and donor requirements
  • Submit monthly, weekly and daily work plan to the concern supervisor on regular basis
  • Help Education officer in assessment and evaluation of the effects of teachers training activities in classrooms
  • Assist the procurement department in purchase of required supplies and stationaries for workshops and training.
  • Maintain regular follow up of the teacher training courses and other capacity development activities through regular field visits, technical follow ups and impact assessments
  • Design and implement training follow up mechanism and ensure need based support and guidance to the teachers, head teachers, SMS members, students and other beneficiaries
  • Undertake training need assessment of teachers, SMS members and other stakeholders
  • Maintain close contact with the relevant Government departments to ensure smooth training programs in the ground.
  • Contribute in short/long term plans, conducting need assessments and developing concept notes
  • Any other duty assigned by the line supervisor.

Job Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Science, project management or any related field with 3-4 years’ relevant experience.

Skills: 

  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft office suite specially Ms. Word, Ms. Excel and PPT
  • Excellent verbal written and analytical skills.
  • Ability to research and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent coordination skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal Skills
  • Outstanding Problem-Solving skills
  • Excellent Report Writing Skills

Languages: Written and Spoken fluency in English, Pashto and Dari languages is a must.
