Community Action for Healing Poverty Organization (CAHPO) is Afghanistan-based NGO (www.chapo.com ) has been established in 2013 by a group of expertise in support of professional advisers and volunteers in response to the needs. was that people affected by different means of violence should be involved in decision-making for positive change in the development process of the country.
CAHPO is a member of different coordination bodies E.g ACBAR where we share our programs with other NGOs and partners. CAHPO is an active partner of UN OCHA, AHF, and FAO.
The Livestock Officer/ trainer will report to the District Coordinator. The post requires an excellent educational background and experiences in animal husbandry and training of farmers in animal keeping. He will have to work closely with the community workers/trainers and other members of the Project Team, to ensure that the livestock component of the project are will organized and the outputs are per the FAO’s requirements. He is responsible for all activities related to livestock, reporting, distribution of inputs, survey, identification of beneficiaries, village and beneficiaries profile preparation as per the FAO’s formats.
Implement the project activities as outlined in the work plan within the timeframe and allocated resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The LSA should have an advanced degree in Veterinary studies and be fully licensed to administer and prescribe medicines.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in practicing veterinary medicines in Afghanistan and be aware and up to date on local livestock breeds, diseases, medicines and availability, and local issues affecting the health and productivity of livestock required
– in accordance with rules and regulations set forth by the Government of Afghanistan and FAO.
Must have demonstrated experience in evaluating data regarding livestock and designing long-term, cost-effective, and locally sound campaigns. Must be an independent worker yet a team player.
Pashto is required for this position and a working knowledge of English and Dari is a plus.
