Job Description

  1. Summary of Key Functions:
  •  Support beneficiary selection and verification processes.
  • Conduct livestock training sessions for target herders.
  •  Distribute animal feed to designated herders according to established procedures.
  •  Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective implementation of livestock-related activities.
  •  Maintain accurate records of beneficiary data, training sessions, and feed distribution.
  •  Monitor the health and well-being of livestock under the project's care.
  •  Provide technical assistance and guidance to herders on livestock management practices.
  •  Report any issues or concerns related to beneficiary selection, training, or feed distribution promptly to the appropriate authorities.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, such as local authorities and community leaders, to ensure smooth implementation of livestock-related activities.
  • Stay updated on best practices and innovations in livestock management to enhance project outcomes.
  •  Adhere to project timelines and budgets while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  •  Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor related to livestock management and project implementation.

Key relations:           

  • Internal: Senior Project Officer and FAO project staff

External: local authorities, beneficiaries, and community members.

Key Results Expected:

  • Select the eligible beneficiaries for livestock response.
  • Provide training to herder on how to use animal feed for their livestock.

Support unconditional cash delivery as per the project target.

Job Requirements

  1. Competence:

Enthusiasm to the job, gender sensitivity, willingness to work in rough field conditions and with local communities. Willingness to travel as per the project requirements, a self-starter and well experience training and good communicator.

Core Competencies:

Community livelihood, livestock and poultry, veterinary.

 

Education: 

Bachelor Degree in Animal Science/Veterinary Science.

 

Work Experience:

At least 5 years’ experience in relevant field of Livestock.

Languages Skills:

Excellent communication in both Dari and Pashto languages, reading and writing ability in English
