Job Description

Livelihood Officer responsible for community mobilization, community coordination, selection and registration of trainees for advance learning skills, setting up VT centers, make sure the VT centers are equipped with VT equipment and materials on regular and timely manner. H/she will provide technical and management support to families on the program to develop and implement community-based sustainable livelihoods initiatives via either promotion of employment-oriented initiatives and enhancing skills or engaging in income-generating activities.

 Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Overall management of the livelihood activities of the project with close coordination with the project coordinators and community mobilizers.

  • Provide support in the selection of project implementation sites and beneficiaries in PDs and host communities
  • Responsible for all aspects of project implementation at the community level
  • S/he will be responsible for the identification and registration of beneficiary household for the livelihood related supports activities
  • Maintain close cooperation with community leaders and with the assisted population, as well as with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Devising proper planning for implementation of livelihood portion of the project and follow up of day-to-day activities of all livelihood activities of the project.
  • Data collection, survey and small research from the project in the initial implementation step of the projects
  • Responsible for ensuring that all participants in the livelihood part of the project have achieved targets of the program.
  • Smooth Implementation of the prepared plan.
  • Support the quality control it means provided by the line manager and ensure the reporting about capacity gaps.
  • Ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics (solve out potential conflicts)

  • Responsible for ensuring that all participants in the livelihood part of the project have achieved targets of the program.
  • Implement project activities in accordance with the project guidelines and targets (Community mobilization, identifying income generation opportunities)
  • Prepare monthly quarterly, result based activity plan the livelihood activities of the projects.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly result based progressive report the relevant activities.
  • Designing of trainings to the beneficiaries accordingly to the approved proposal of the projects.
  • Preparing and coordinating daily plan and activities that contributes to the objective of the project.
  • Appropriately planning for visibility of WCC activities in the field.
  • Regular field visit from the project site
  • Monitoring and supervision of the activities at the field level and sharing the findings with the provincial coordinator and relevant staff for improvement.
  • Keep the perfect record, and filing system of the project activities, and do the proper data collection.
  • Develop success stories for the monthly report and newsletter
  • Perform any other task assigned or required.
 

Job Requirements

Academic Background and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration (BBA) Commerce (B. Com) Economics or development studies
  • Training in TEVET
  • 3–4-year relevant experience in vocational training marketing and livelihoods implementation
  • Excellent Dari Pashto and English language skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer office applications and email.

Skills

  • Dari or Pashtu is mandatory
  • Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of community development especially working with women,
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and presentation skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meeting of deadlines
  • Good reporting skills including report compilation, analysis and presentation
  • Culture sensitive and respect for local norms
  • Confidentiality and privacy
