The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) has a zero tolerance of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) both within the organization and of beneficiaries. Prevention of and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) is the individual and collective responsibility of all NAC officers, management, staff, consultants, and volunteers, who are all required to familiarize themselves with, agree to, and act in accordance with NAC’s Ethical Guidelines and Commitment, NAC Child Protection Policy, and NAC PSEAH Policy, at all times – both during and outside working hours – and participate actively in introductory and refresher trainings. Any breaches of PSEAH clauses in NAC’s policies, guidelines, and/or commitments will lead to immediate termination and possible legal actions.

Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1:   To plan ٫deliver and evaluate theory and practical lessons (as per monthly teaching schedule)

  • Preparation of teaching schedule with support and approval of course coordinator.
  • Preparation of teaching plan ٫ implement and preparing exam papers.
  • Preparation of teaching materials according to faculty curriculum.
  • Delivery of training using various teaching methodologies in order to conduct effective training sessions.
  • Exam planning and preparation (midterm and final   exam) through consultation with the course coordinator.
  • Appropriate recording and filing of student’s exam results.
  • Identification of the additional coaching needs of individual students.
  • Allocation of work time to address individual coaching of all student.

2: Organize clinical practice

  • Prepare training opportunities and scheduling of learning sessions.
  • Find adequate cases for the student to practice on.
  • Ensure that the student have uniforms (medical uniform).
  • Make sure the student prepares and carry necessary clinical assessment tools to the clinical practice area.
  • To complete the practical work of all the subjects in the skill Lab for the female students.
  • Manage the female students and reports daily to coordinator.
  • Responsibilities of female Classes, Skill Lab, computer lab, Library in female IHS.
  • Manage the time to oversee all students equally.
  • Manage the students to clinical stag works in hospitals according to timetable.
  • Keep records of the student performance on daily basis.
  • Provide feedback as students on practical sessions by the end of each day.
  • Consider cultural and gender sensitivity as well as professional ethics to guide students for their clinical practice.

3: Managing   of teaching materials and equipment used for teaching purpose

  • Safekeeping of teaching materials especially anatomy models.
  • Ensure students use the library properly and they return the books. 
  • Maintain electronic equipment and teaching materials such as multi media are in sound working condition.
  • Perform other job – related task as   assigned by the coordinator.

4: Administrative support to the project

  • Control and record keeping of student attendance on a daily basis.
  • The teacher is obliged to attend meetings ٫workshops or any seminars related to the training when organized at same province or in Kabul.
  • Attending internal and external meetings which are relevant to work submit training document records which include student attendance sheets٫ examination results ٫clinical practice outcome/scores to the course coordinator.

Job Requirements

Languages Required:

  •  Pashto
  • Dari
  • English

 

Qualifications Required:

  •  Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is required.

 

Work Experience:

  • Two or three years of experience in Medical Laboratory section
  • Having one year work experience as Medical Laboratory trainer will be an asset.

 

Skills:

  • Good communication skill in English, Dari & Pashto
  • Honesty and integrity in handling sensitive information and materials
  • Continually seeking improvement and learning new skills
  • Proficient in project management and logistical support
  • Able to manage and release stress and cope with challenges
  • Communication skills, customer service skills and organizational skills
